Sweet Revenge
It’s been a year and a half since I lost Jack. The memories of him being sick is fading but the memories of his kisses, his love and him being happy are still strong in my heart. I know he is with me and Ian every day.
“I love you Jack” I whispered as I placed flowers on his grave. Today is Jack’s birthday and I didn’t want to go without telling him I loved him.
After Jack passed I came here every day. I couldn’t find the way to cope with him not being here with me. I missed his laugh, I missed his smile and I missed his touch. I would come and tell him everything that Ian did that day or tell him how much I loved him.
“Mom he loves you too” Ian said as he grabbed my hand. I just looked at him and kissed him. My little boy is getting so big.
“Come on let’s go get some ice-cream” I said with a smile and we turned to walk to the car.
Harper was standing outside of the car leaning up against it with a sad smile. Harper never left, he said I needed help with Ian until I got myself together. He was right. After Jack passed I was a mess. I was either crying or sleeping the day away.
“Are you okay Kitty cat?” Harper asked.
“I’m fine” I said as I was putting Ian in the back seat and helping him with his seatbelt. Then we took Ian for ice-cream
Ian had to order the blue ice-cream. He loved the way the ice-cream turned his tongue blue after eating it.
“Renee?” I heard someone call my name. I turned around and I saw Nick.
“Nicky!” I yelled with excitement and I ran up to him and gave him a big hug.
“I haven’t seen you in forever! How are you?” he was just as excited to see me as I was with him.
“I’m doing good. I have missed you” I told him as I kissed his cheek.
“I missed you too. You look good” he said as he gave me a look over.
“Thanks.”
“We should meet for coffee or something and catch up.” He said and when he did say that I wrote down my number and gave it to him.
“Sounds good, call me some time” I said as I handed it to him. He then kissed me on the cheek and left.
I sat back down at the table Harper and Ian was sitting at and Harper handed me my cone.
“I can’t take you anywhere. Guys are always hitting on you” Harper said in a pissed off tone.
“Nicky wasn’t hitting on me. We are just good friends. Or we used to be.” I said as I licked my strawberry ice-cream.
“Nicky?” Harper was making fun of the way I said his name. I think Harper was being a little jealous. I don’t know why, there is nothing going on between him and I. Yes Harper lives with me but we stay in separate rooms.
After we were done with our ice-cream we went home. Ian was tired and wanted to go to his bedroom and watch a movie. Harper decided it was a good idea so he put a movie in for him and I to watch so I went into the kitchen and I popped popcorn.
The movie Harper picked out was a scary movie and it had me jumping. Harper was laughing at me every time I jumped. There was a part of the movie that had me hiding my eyes in Harper’s chest which made Harper laugh even more. I peaked up to Harper to ask him if that part was over but when my eyes locked on to his I couldn’t talk. He looked back down at me and his smile from laughing at me disappeared. He now was staring at me the way I was staring at him. Harper moved in closer to me and his lips met mine. I closed my eyes and allowed this to happen. He moved his hands up to support my head and somehow I was now lying on his lap. Our kiss became deeper and harder. Something inside of me told me to stop and at first I ignored it and kept kissing him, but the voice got louder in my head the more intense the kiss got and I finally pulled away.
