President Snow's POV:

Long sleepless days.
The Capitol has me worried, feared for what has to come.

Uprisings are taking place in the heart of Panem.

All because of that little girl.

How can a fourteen year old girl be as smart as she is? She comes from a district with little stability for success and a place where intelligence is not granted with immunity nor hope.

"President Snow..."

I humm at the sound of apparatus.

"What is so crucial for me to know at this moment? Why are you disturbing me?"

"I'm sorry Mr. President. But, you may want to see this."

I furrow my eyebrows and lay the white rose down that I had in my hand, admiring it.

I stand from my chair as the peace keeper leads me to the security room.

"She's alive.."

"Who?"

"Avon Dartnell." He states, breathlessly.

"What? That's impossible." I say, taking a seat in front of the monitor.

All of my impossibilities turn into pure possibilities.

I see her.

"How?" I narrow my eyes at the screen.

"We don't know. But we know she's at home, in her district..."

"President Snow, would you like us to send the peace keepers to retrieve her and bring her here?"

I ponder my thoughts.

"Dartnell. Why does that name sound so familiar?" I ask him.

"Wasn't there a tribute who had that last name a couple of years ago?" He suggests.

"Oh correct. Her cousin... Right?"

"I believe so, sir."

"I've heard it long before that though." I lean back with ideas rolling through my head.

I know where I've heard the last name before.

"I don't know-"

"Meliana Dartnell." I interrupt.

"Excuse me?" He asks, clearly confused.

"Meliana Dartnell."

"Her mother..."
