We make our way inside through a door in the garage. When we walked in, all the boys were sitting on the counter in the kitchen. They all seemed to be around my age, except one who looked like he was about one years old. We all stood around the door and stared at each other for a slight moment before anybody said anything.
"Hello, boys," Melissa started speaking. "I'm Melissa, Andrew's cousin from Wisconsin. This is my boyfriend, Don, and his daughters, Maranda and Klaudia."
Olivia and I give them a slight smile and a slight wave. They all got up from the counter and headed over to us to introduce themselves.
"Welcome to our home," one of the boys started to talk, seeming to be the eldest. "My name is Damian. These are the triplets and their names are Brad, Jordan, and Tyler," he said as he pointed to each one of them. He then picked up the baby and said, "And this little one is Jace." They all waved at once, and for some odd reason, I began to feel comfortable.
"Well," Melissa started, "Now that we all know each other, Don and I will be leaving to enjoy the rest of the wedding. Enjoy your night, girls and boys. We'll be back later to pick you two up."
We waved goodbye and they were out the door. I gave Klaudia an odd look, but then I got caught off guard.
"Well, what do you ladies want to do?" Damian asked.
We both shrugged our shoulders silently, looking around as our eyes found the living room.
"A bit shy, eh?" Damian asked with a slight laugh.
"Haha, yeah, only a little bit," I said.
"Well, let's go into the living room and watch some movies. It'll be fun," Damian said.
Klaudia and I took off our boots and followed the boys into the livingroom. The boys got comfortable and we sat wherever we could fit. I sat on the far end of the couch from Jordan, while Damian and Brad sat in chairs. Tyler disappeared downstairs to play Xbox, and Klaudia sat on the floor with Jace. Damian turned on the TV and we watched many movies that starred Dwayne Johnson in them. We watched G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Snitch, Pain & Gain, and the night was going by fast. Klaudia kept Jace busy by showing him the iPad and playing games with him. Jace started to become cranky as he was getting tired. The boys didn't know how to get a baby to sleep, so I stepped up.
"Warm up a bottle for Jace, please," I said to Damian as I started to calm Jace down.
Damian brought out a bottle and handed it to me.
"Thank you. Now watch and learn, boys. This is how you get a baby to sleep quick," I said.
I wrapped Jace up in a blanket, cradled him into my arms, shaked the bottle real quick, and I held it for Jace. He looks at me with his big blue eyes as they started taking longer blinks. I rocked him slowly and slightly to keep him comfortable. I didn't notice it, but all the boys were actually watching what I was doing. Damian was sitting next to me, watching very closely and paying attention to small details. Jace didn't finish the bottle quite yet, but was out like a light.
"Brad, can you grab Jace's bottle from me please?" I asked.
"Sure thing," Brad said.
He grabbed the bottle from me as I stood up with Jace, and he suddenly became heavy. I didn't even have to ask Jace, he already knew where I needed to go. He led me into Jace's room and left the light off. I found my way to Jace's crib and laid him down with a blanket laying over him. He looked so peaceful sleeping and a smile appeared on my face.
"Hey, can I have Jace's bottle please?" I whispered to Brad.
"Oh, of course," he said.
He handed me the bottle, and I turned around and laid the bottle next to Jace. I slowly made my way back up from the crib. I turned around and Brad was waiting by the doorway for me. I couldn't see with the lights on and tripped over one of Jace's toys. As I was falling, Brad had caught me. We both immediately turned around to see if Jace had woken up, but he was still out like a light. Brad and I stayed there for a second, just gazing into each other's eyes. His eyes twinkling from the light shining in through the hallway, his hands around my waist from when he caught me. He finally releases his hands gently as his face turns a little red.
"Hey, thanks for catching me," I said.
"It looks like I'll be the one to catch you when you fall from now on," Brad said as he gave a little smirk.
"Haha, I guess so," I said, becoming a little shy.
"Let's go back into the living room so they don't suspect anything," Brad said.
"Right behind you," I agreed.
I look back at Jace one last time before closing the door. Brad was already in the living room before I had got there. He was helping the boys pick out the next movie, which of course, had Dwayne Johnson in it. As I grab the iPad to play a game, and right before the movie started, there is a mad sound coming from the basement. We all look around to see where the sound was coming from. Just then and there, Tyler busts upstairs through the basement door angry. He said everything on his account had been deleted and his name was changed. Everything was wrong and he wanted to know who did it.
"Haha! Tyler, you got hacked! That's why everything is missing," Damian explained. "It happened to me once too, dude. Don't worry, I'll get it fixed later."
"No, I want it fixed now," Tyler demanded.
"Stay up here. I'll show you how a pro fixes it," I said sarcastically.
I followed Tyler downstairs to the Xbox and asked him exactly what was missing. It was so much easier to get all of his stuff back onto his account since he was so open.
"Now to prevent this from happening again, we're going to put a security lock on your account. You just hit this button and this one, and bang, your account is blocked from hackers," I said.
"Sweet, thanks!" Tyler said excitedly.
"Now if you ever need help again, just hit me up. I'll always have an answer for you," I said.
Tyler got back onto his game quickly, and told all of his friends that a girl had fixed his account. I gave a smirk to myself as I was walking back up the basement stairs. I went and sat back on the couch next to Damian as my dad and Melissa had walked through the door.
"Hey guys, ready to go?" Melissa asked.
"Uhm, no. We're actually having a lot of fun," I said.
"Well, we got to go to get back to the hotel for the ride home tomorrow. Say your goodnights, ladies. We'll meet up with them again sometime soon," my dad said with a smile.
"Goodnight, guys," Klaudia and I both said.
"Thanks for having us!" I said.
Klaudia and I grabbed our stuff as we waved goodbye and headed out the door.
"Maranda, please be careful as you open your door," Melissa said.
I was about to ask why, but then I saw a huge dent in the door!
"What happened?" I asked.
"One of the boys aunts hit it at the wedding, but don't worry. I'm going to let the insurance company deal with her. I got all the information I need," Melissa said, reassuring me.
Klaudia and I got in the car, and we weren't far down the road when I closed my eyes and had dozed off for a bit.
