Kayla

I don't wanna wake up.

I could hear the roaring and screaming coming from the town circle as the royal carriage arrives.

Every girl dreams of getting to know her prince charming, but I didn't. I wanted the normal life, not some fancy one where the prince was the dominant one. I wanted an equal relationship.

I dressed up and laced my hand with the bracelet Nicholas gave me two years ago. I was turning 17 next month, which meant Nicholas was turning 18 too. We had the same birthday, May 17, Friday.

I placed on a glove that fit right over my hand. If it wasn't an order to be present in the selection, I would still be asleep, dreaming of running in a donut field.

I took one step out the door and realized, I hate the outside

It was cloudy, which meany there was a chance of rain. Also, the streets were crowded.

"Ugh," I grumbled

I squeezed into the crowd and got pushed back and forth. Most girls I could make on who would be right for who. There was one who kept lacing her hair and putting on some herbal cologne. Definitely for Prince Harry. One was reading a book with her hair tied with a bandana. She was reading a book, perfect for Prince Derek. Another was with a smug face and looked too bulk for a girl. Perfect for Prince Calum.

She got pushed to the back of the crowd. No surprise.

A fancy looking man stepped forward on the platform and got on the loud speaker.

He had a pointed nose, his hair was swept back, and he looked so smug.
He looked like why did I agree to this?

"Attention, last night we enjoyed dancimg and chatting with all you beautiful maidens, alas we have some disappointing news....,"

A much handsomer man grabbed the speaker and cleared his throat.

"We have found no maiden worthy of our attention, but we have come up with a plan, I rather," he pointed out glancing at his two brothers.

"Whatever. We will be holding another ball tonight, sort of a second chance. All houses will be searched for a maiden to be brought, so no maiden will be absent from the occasion," said the third brother who was more good looking than the rest.

His sandy hair was styled into a shaggy style. He looked like Nicholas and all the other guys I had a crush on in my entire life. Well you know what I mean....

I could've ran away, but she was too quick, my mother caught my arms and dragged me away from the crowd.

"Let's go, Kay?!" She mumbled
