Kayla

I wasn't ready

Nicholas made me dash left and right in the woods, maling me earn a bunch of splinters on my legs.

Finally we came to a stop, Nicholas let go of my hand and started to pant like crazy.

"We're here," he said, running out of breath.

I took a look around. It was a camp area. Wood and rocks were scattered everywhere.

From water to food, Nicholas brought them.

He even brought some coconut-bread.

"Woah," I said in amazement. "This might just be enough for me to actually love you Nick," I spat. Realizing what I said, I clamped my mouth with my hands.

Nicholas just grinned.

He gestured for me to follow him and I did.

He was holding my hand in a gentelman-ish way which was actually giddy-ish.

"Here," he said, pointing into a river full of rocks. Flowing down water from a waterfall.

"I-," I stammered.

"Too shocked to say anything, Kay?" He mused.

"No, I just want to know why you hid this paradise from me!" I snorted.

"Excuse me sunshine," he said in a husky voice. "I just found it a week ago, plus I woudn't want you to invite your friends here,"

"My friends? You mean Hailey and Belle? They're not bad," I furrowed.

"Oh I'm Belle and I have a case full of dolls I don't like to share...," he said mimicking Belle's voice.

I snorted. It sounded more like a snarf.

Nicholas dragged me down the stairway and into the river.

"I didn't bring a swimsuit!" I retorted.
"Who cares just swim in your clothes, I wont mind, and neither will you," he said in a freakishly playful tone.

"Fine, but I don't know if mother will--,"

I was pushed down the giant rock and landed fave first into the water.

It was a deep river okay?

Just as I reached up to the surface, I heard an incoming cannon ball.

My face got splashed big time.

Sooner or later I figured Nicholas would get tired of hoarsing around. But boy I was wrong.

"Want to play Prince and Princess?" He inquired.

The thought made me feel nostalgic.

I remember when Nicholas played Prince and I was the princess.

He would kiss my hand everytime.

"Sure," I said.

He carried me bridal style and dropped me in the water, causing my sandal to fall of my foot.

"Nick!" I complained.

He helped me up a rock and went back to find my sandal.

I couldn't help but blush.

Sometimes I wonder if mother was right. I could marry Nicholas...

Nicholas was my biggest "What If".

Returning with my sandal, he plaved and laced it on my foot. He was grinning.

"Are you alright my princess?" He asked with sincerity, eyeing a wound on my ankle. I honestly hadn't noticed that.

"Let's go swimming again I'm sure I can man--,"

I was cut off by an arrow that landed one inch away from Nicholas.

"Bandits," he muttered. We had ran for it.

Well I mean he ran for it, Nicholas picked me up bridal style and sprinted as fast as he could. "I thought King Lancelot took care of the bandits already!" I complained.

"Me too," he replied. We took sharp turns and stops until Nicholas said, "We're lost,". He set me down on a log. "We could camp out--,"

"Are you crazy? The princes swore they would search for every princess, you'd be dead meat, Nick?!" I panicked.

"Who said they would?"he bragged while flexing his muscles.

I couldn't help but grin.

"Nick I just want you to know that mother wants me to--," I stammered.

He raised a brow. "She wants me to--," "She wants you to marry me?" he guessed.

"How did you--,"

"My mother blabbers about it all the time, I decided not to make a big deal about it though, I dont wanna make you uncomfortable, Kayla," he promised with sincerity.

"Stop joking, Nicholas!" I complained, teary-eyed.

"Am not!" He insisted.

"Yeah I believe you so much," I said sarcastically. Nicholas smiled.

We locked gazes for a moment. I could feel the welcoming warmth in his eyes. "Thank you for making me feel special, Kay," he pressed. He leaned in, and kissed me.

It was pretty much the best kiss of all fairytales that even Cinderella couldn't beat.
