Chapter 8.
(Tian's POV)
"I..." Kris starts, making my breath hitch in my throat. What will he say, I want to help yet what will be the outcome of our life together? I sigh, I will just have to answer for him.
"I will do it." I say, earning some gasps from the new found family that was created not to long ago. I look around and see the frightened looks on everyone's faces.
"What? I would love to help, even if I could possibly die.." I say, looking at everyone but Kris. I don't want to see the look he may have on right now..
"Anyone else, The threat to humanity is rising quickly and we do not have a lot of time here on our hands. We need a new crew, new members and fighters. We believed you all here would be the perfect team for us." One of the men says, the one who seems to present more power over the other noticeably.
The whole room grows quiet when the man finishes, causing him to growl lowly. He must be very impatient, or the task at hand is as life-threatening as they have presented it to be. I look around the room, and see everyone is staring at me. I flinch and bite my lip, I don't like this kind of attention. It scares me actually.
"We will do it." Tao says, Suho pulling him closer and burrowing his face in Tao's neck, where his mark for him would be. I can smell the fear from Suho, which makes me pity him a lot more then I did before.
"Will you guys accept an old lady like myself?" Charlene says, making her son scoff at her.
"Mom, you are only twenty-nine. You aren't old until you reach forty." Jay says.
"Wow, thanks for the help Jay.." Charlene says, sighing.
"Ma'am, we just need you there to be the caretaker. We won't ask you to become a fighter like your son and nephews here." One man says. Charlene nods her head and agrees.
"We will too, we won't let this offer pass us up just because we are scared." Min says, Chanyeol and him clutching eachother's hands.
"Oh, it's alright to be scared. When we first fought for the agency, we were scared shitless." The other man says, trying to comfort us. It worked, we all started to laugh and smile.
"Okay, we are still scared even though. Family, lets do this. We are one, remember?" Kai says, standing up and in front of everyone. I turn and look at Kris, who nods and looks back at me. He smiles and kisses my cheek, and whispers something in my ear making me flush immediately.
We are one, I won't let you do this alone. I promise.
"So, will everyone be doing it?" The higher man says, looking around at everyone and making sure they are all listening to him.
"Yes." Everyone says in unison. The leader seems to be surprised by this action, since he flinches at our response.
"Alright everyone, then be ready in two days to start your training immediately. Thank you, and here." The leader stands and looks at me, walking over and handing me a card with names and numbers.
"Call the number to Alpha Jackson, if there is no answer try the number to Beta Harrison. Thank you all for your time and co-operation at this time. We truly appreciate it, and please be done packing a few hours before the final day. We will come early, so please do be prepared." Alpha Jackson says making his way out of the living room, followed by his Beta and others who were most likely his body guards, and leave the house. I stand up, and walk over to the front door and look out the small peep hole and lock the door while doing so.
When I see that the men have left, I walk away from the door and to the living room and see the eyes of my new family staring up at me. I stare back, and bite my lip nervously.
"Anyone hungry, it is almost 8:00. We haven't had dinner yet so.." I suggest, getting a bunch of enthusiastic nods from everyone in the room. I laugh and go to the kitchen and grab the house phone.
"Hello, I would like some Chinese takeout..." I say into the phone, and ordering all of the food I think everyone will eat. I give the the person on the other line my number and address, then hang up after my order was clarified. I walk out of the kitchen and back over to the living room.
"Alright, I have ordered our food to come. What n-" I stop, then realize the boys have turned on the Xbox 360 and they were dancing on a K-Pop dance game. I laugh and shake my head at them. They have to be rehearsing or something during their own free time..
"Haha, it's Lay versus Kai. They are both good dancers so this may be a close match." Kris says, walking away from his family and putting his arm around my waist.
"Oh okay, who do you want to win?" This was a stupid question to ask, but I asked him anyways.
"Who else? Lay." Kris says, clarifying that my question was stupid to ask. Then, Kai stops for a second.
"Thanks for the boat of confidence you two, makes me feel a lot better about myself thank you." Kai says, then starts dancing again. I look up at Kris and he looks back at me, and we laugh together.
Ding-Dong!
The doorbell sounds, making me tear away from my mate involuntarily and answer the door.
"Food is here!"
