A few days later....
"Come on, Ranger! Run faster, don't make us start again!" Harrison says, jogging in front of me and smirking at my dark face. I snarl at him and run faster, my family running behind us. I sigh, my legs feel like jello, and a yawn pushing through my mouth.
"Just jog, Kris. It's healthy for your body." Min says, running up next to me. I shake my head.
"I don't care, but what I really don't get is why Tian gets to be training in a Jaegar already and we can't yet. Hell, she gets to choose which ones we get that she designs!" I say, shaking my head once more. It isn't fair, honestly. I love her with all my heart, but why her? Why does she have to go through those things instead of us?
"Keep it up, Rangers! Keep running like your life depends on it, wait, it does! SO RUN." Harrison yells over our family.
After a few more hours of gruesome exercises, it was time for breakfast. I make way to my room, which I share with Kyungsoo, Min, Luhan and Sehun, and Lay, to take a shower. I walk over to the door and type in the access code, the door unlocking and everyone walking inside before me.
"Omo, that was the most tiring way of exercise I have every been through. Ever." Sehun says, grabbing a towel from the rack and wiping off his sweat. Luhan grabs one as well.
"It's okay, babe. We just gotta keep going until Tian finishes our Jaegers, then we can have trial runs!" Luhan says, patting his mate on the back and smiling. I smile, shaking my head. I've somewhat learned to accept Luhan, but he can still be a bit annoying.
I walk to the bathroom, and open the door. It isn't what I would want in my house, but it's live able. I shut the door behind me and go towards the shower, turning on the water. I undress and walk into the warm liquid, small beads of water running down my back.
I stay under the water, my hands pressed against the wall to hold myself in place under the water. In the silence, I think about Tian. We haven't spoken in a few days, and my wolf has missed her. I've figured that she has been very busy, designing both her and the family's Jaegers, then training on her own and with Alpha Jackson personally. It's a lot of work for one person, but I know she is succeeding.
I hear a faint knocking on the door and it gets louder, and louder. The noise banging against my ear drums in a high frequency, I growl.
"What the hell do you want?" I growl, my eyes changing color as my anger from the repetitive noise heightens.
"Dude, dude. Chill out, I just wanted to tell you that the Alpha is here. We need to go talk to him now." Kyungsoo says, sighing. I sigh as well, feeling guilty for my actions. Kyungsoo didn't do anything, yet I scream at him for knocking on the door! I mentally slap myself and get out of the shower, turning a knob and the water clicking off. I grab a towel off a rack nearby and dry my hair, taking most of the water out and wrapping the towel around my waist.
I open the door, and walk out of the bathroom. I hear small conversations from the living room, and walk there. When I walk into the living room I see my brothers and cousins and room mates, Alpha Jackson, and Tian. Tian is holding a binder with a set of dividers. Each divider having a distinct name: Caution Freedom, Serial Discovery, Wreckless Admiration, and Onyx Dragon.
"Now that everyone is here, We have decided to give only eight of you rangers Jaegers at the moment. From the scores you all have so far during your training, we will choose the ones we think will be Drift Compatible for you." Jackson says, making some of us groan. I tilt my head slightly in confusion.
"What is Drift Compatible?" I ask.
"To be Drift Compatible, you must be able to feel a connection. When you drive a Jaeger you need two people, a Left Hemisphere and Right Hemisphere. One pilot cannot drive a Jaeger alone, we have learned from that.." I notice Tian flinch slightly, then collect herself, clutching the binder tighter.
"But, we have successfully created four new Jaegers. Tian, please present your Pilots with their Jaegers." Alpha Jackson says, motioning Tian to come forward. She nods and walks forward, opening the binder and looking up at us.
"Okay, when I say your name please step forward," She looks up and everyone gets in a line, shortest to tallest, me being at the end.
"Xiu Min, Tao, Luhan, and Kris. Please step forward, You four have been chosen to be the set Pilots for the for Jaegers we have right now." I smile, and bite my lip. I didn't think I'd make it, but hey! I did.
"Xiu Min, your Jaeger is named Serial Discovery. Here is the booklet on her and please do consider taking good care of her, She is a one of a kind." Tian says, taking a thick stack of papers out of her binder and handing it to my big brother. He smiles, looking at the cover.
"Thank you so much." Min says, smiling. Tian nods and moves to Tao, who is looking at the binder intensely, as if nervous for what Jaeger he will be assigned.
"Tao, your Jaeger is named Wreckless Admiration. I chose her special for you, hopefully you have good blade skills." Tian says, taking the next stack of papers from her binder and giving it to Tao.
"Wow, thank you so much!" Tao says, hugging Tian tightly. She laughs, hugging him back.
"You're welcome! Haha! Okay okay, I need to give the other Jaegers now, Tao, let go please." Tao makes this sound like 'oh' and lets her go.
"Luhan, your Jaeger will be Onyx Dragon. A hardcore fighting machine, seems perfect for you since you got the highest score in close combat." Luhan smiles, and takes the packet from Tian.
"Kris, you will be driving Caution Freedom. Not much to say on her, other than she was designed by me for the longest time. But, she fights hard." I nod, and wait for her to hand me the packet like for everyone else. She gives me my packet, and I start to look through it quickly.
"Alright, we will be in the Combat Room to determine your co-pilots. Goodbye, and read over those packets, Rangers." Alpha Jackson says, bowing and walking out with Tian following behind. I look down at my packet cover, and see the picture of my Jaeger.
Wow, this is gonna be awesome!
