Dealing and mingling with humans was never a part of the plan. At least, that's what I was told when I was recruited by Lord Titus. He assured me that contact with the humans would be minimal at best, so why had I found myself in this situation. Surrounded by the parasites?
"If this works, not only will we have the means to save Skeron but we will have a second planet to use and expand on." Titus said, keeping his voice low whilst talking to me. Prince Finn had just headed off on his mission to find his Father, the King.
"What if he finds him?" I asked, wondering what would happen if Finn found out the truth.
"He won't, I took care of it months ago. There is no way he will find my brother." Titus said, sure of himself. "Can I count on you to do what needs to be done Isaac?" he asked me, an I thought about the guttering betrayal I was about to embark on. I knew that the overall outcome would be worth the betrayal on my Prince, he was not prepared to do what needs to be done. Totally consumed with finding his Father instead.
Further proof he was not ready to make such drastic decisions. Whereas Lord Titus was ready to make the hard call, to do what was right for Skeron and it's people.
"Yes, you can." I said, remembering my conversation with Lord Titus before leaving for Earth two weeks ago.
I looked over to where Serena was now tied up to a tree, to stop any more mishaps from happening. I had no idea she could be so smart as to think she could concoct a plan against me. Though she wasn't quite smart enough.
I wondered silently to myself if she knew just what she had gotten into. Did she understand the implications of befriending my beloved Prince Finn of Skeron? - and that it was more trouble than it was worth?
If only she knew the truth.
I could hear her mumbling to herself, but I ignored her and continued to look to the skies. I was hoping the council would turn up before Finn did, but I was told what I had to do in the event of them showing up late.
The morning sky on Earth was pretty glorious, the pinks and oranges mixing with the cool, crisp blues. Not dissimilar to the mornings back home on Skeron, though the mornings there were more purple than blue, and were mixed with orange and yellows. A sight to behold, but the one here on Earth would have to do for the foreseeable future.
I tapped my foot impatiently, they should have been here an hour ago. I wondered if I had sent the wrong coordinates? Or had they encountered a space storm they had to manoeuver around? Either way they were late, and it wasn't like the council to be late without good reason and it was making me more on edge than I'd like to admit!
It was then I heard a nearby twig snap, whoever was trying to sneak up on me had failed. I stood up slowly and walked towards the sound.
"What are you doing?" Serena demanded to know. I gave her a glare sure enough to scare away a predatory lion, and she quickly got the message to keep her human mouth shut for once.
I carried on past Serena and into the woods. I walked past a few trees and stopped in another small clearing. I looked around, there didn't seem to be anyone here. I turned to head back towards camp and check that Serena hadn't tried to escape - again. When I bumped into a tall figure.
I took a step back and looked.
"You came."
