Blacked Out - Chapter 19

Shawn's POV

It was early in the morning when me and Ashley were on the bus with ours while waiting to go visit Livy and Hayes in the hospital. Ever since last night it almost seems she's been really mad at me for some reason. Either she's upset about them and is keeping her feelings to herself, or she's actually mad at me for some reason.

I looked to the seat next to me for a little bit and she looked back in my direction.

"What?" She shot.

"Why are you being so different?"

"Wow." She looked at the ground.

"No I just want to know." I kneeled down trying to get her attention back.

"It's nothing. Just my friends being in the hospital, the whole Carter thing, it's just so much to handle."

I looked closer at her and started to rub her back. She turned her head away from me.

"Is that all?"

I heard her sniffle. "Can you stop? Please?"

"Yeah..." I took my hand off of her. We were silent for the rest of the bus ride.

I looked down and got a text from Cameron. "You guys are aware we all can hear you talking, right?"

Oh. Boy.

Ashley's POV

I appreciate Shawn for caring, but really? I told him already and he didn't need to keep asking. If I didn't tell him something, then that means I don't want him to know. And that was the case. I was honest about the Carter thing and the hospital thing, but I'm also upset about how I think he's interested in someone else. AND how he still has a girlfriend.

Wait. He still has a girlfriend.

This is all so confusing.

"We're here..." Nash announced.

We all got up slowly and walked out the bus silently. It was me, Shawn, Nash, Cameron, Jack Gilinsky and Jack Johnson, Tez, and Alec. All of these people and nobody talked to each other.

Livy's POV

"When are they going to be here?" Hayes asked me.

"Soon. I promise."

I hear a knock on the door. "Be right there!" I walked out and saw everyone's face turn into a face like they all felt bad for me.

"Hey, guys." I closed the door behind me. "A little something before you all go in." I looked down at the floor about to tear up.

"Livy?" Nash asked.

"Hayes, he doesn't remember anything. He didn't know who I was, and he won't know who you all are. He'll be meeting you all for the first time again."

I looked at everyone and they all had nothing to say. Legit all of them were speechless. Nash of course was the most upset.

"Nash, you're his brother. It's only fair." I opened the door. "You're the fourth person he'll meet."

Nash stared at the door for a few seconds and walked in.

"Hi!" Hayes waved at him.

Nash looked back at me before I closed the door. "I can't do this."

"C'mon Nash. You have to do it now or never." I closed the door on him.

Nash's POV

"Hey, Hayes." I walked over.

"Who are you?"

Nothing hurt more than those 3 words from your own brother who you knew for 15 years years of your life.

"Hayes... It's Nash. Your brother?"

"My brother?"

"Oh gosh, Hayes." I faced the other direction.

"Hey, I'm sorry. This isn't easy for me either."

There was a long pause. I turned around and looked at Hayes. "There's someone you should meet." I began to walk over to the door and paused before I could open it. "Sorry, re-meet."

I opened the door and signaled Tez to come in. He looked hesitant but tried to cover it up. "Hayes, this is Tez. He's like... Your best friend."

"Best friend?" Hayes questioned.

"Yeah." Tez answered.

"You're black, though."

Hayes.
