My alarm clock bleeped and I eternally groaned. I was not looking forward to starting another school year. "Lydia get up, you're going to be late for your first day" my mom called from the next room. Slowly getting out of bed with a yawn, I dragged myself over to the mirror. My strawberry blonde hair was messily piled on top of my head, I tugged it down unwrapping my curls, looks like I'll have to straighten it. Once I tackled my mop I moved on to makeup, then to my outfit; I wore a burgundy skater skirt with a black off the shoulder top paired with some black heels. I don't know why I make the effort, nobody notices me anyway.
BEEP BEEP! It was Alison, she was taking me to school. I left the house and made my way over to her car opening the door, her black curly hair blew in the wind as she turned and gave me a quick smile, "Hey girl, ready for our first year together?" I sighed,
"Can't wait". I turned to look at Allison while she was driving, she was effortlessly beautiful, she didn't even have to try.We closed the car doors, walking in to school to reach our lockers which were conveniently next to each other. "So this year, I plan to get Scott" Allison giggled and then smirked. Scott Mcall was one of the most popular guys in our year, and Allison has had her eyes on him since she moved here a few weeks ago. We was childhood friends before her family decided to move away, but after her Moms recent death, she moved back to her hometown Beacon Hills, reconnecting with me. Scott lives next door to me, and considering she has spent a lot of time at mine this holiday, she has seen Scott on several occasions.
In that very moment, Scott walked through the hallway with his bestfriend Stiles Stilinski. Stiles was perfect, his brown eyes, his smile, everything about him was heavenly. I had been crushing on him since third grade, ever since he stuck up for me against the other boys when they made fun of my hair, calling me 'ginger' and a 'carrot', but stiles told them it was strawberry blonde and that I was perfect the way I was. But now he ignores me, he's popular and well I'm just Lydia.
"Scott, come here!" Allison waves. I turned to her "You idiot you know he's with Stiles!" She smirked, even better. Scott casually walked over to us alone, "Hey Lydia, and you must be Allison? I've seen you at Lydia's a lot recently, you must be new around here." Alison grinned, "Yeah, do you mind showing me around? Lydia's got some stuff to do". I raised an eyebrow, "Do I?". Scott chuckled, "Ok let's go, see you later Lydia, bye Stiles". Stiles? Stiles had been here this whole time? I turned around and sure enough he was right behind me. "Hey Lyds, I haven't seen you in a while, god you look different" I sighed, "Stiles you have seen me, you just haven't payed attention to me, which I don't blame you, you're Stiles". He looked confused for a moment before speaking "I don't know why I haven't, you're gorgeous" he winked and walked away leaving me speechless, did Stiles, popular and loveable Stiles just compliment me?
