Chapter 26: Nightmare or Vision?

HELLO EVERYONE! I'M BACK AND I CAME WITH ANOTHER CHAPTER FOR YOU ALL. PLEASE ENJOY IT! IT'S MY SPRING BREAK SO I'M HOPING TO UPDATE ONCE MORE BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS AGAIN, BUT I WON'T MAKE ANY PROMISES. ON WITH THE CHAPTER!

   (Natsu POV)

   I pulled the covers up to the sleeping Lucy's shoulders, kissed her forehead and walked to the door. Looking back I quickly saw her face turn to a sad expression. I'll quickly take a shower and come check on her. I closed the door and headed to the bathroom. 

   I locked the door, took off my clothes and hopped in the shower. As the straight hot water hit my body I started to think about the near future, Lucy fulfilling the prophecy, Zeref and what tricks the dark mage has in store, and not to be selfish but also me. What will happen to me? After I was done my shower I wrapped a towel around my waist and walked to my room to change.

  After I was dressed I made my way down the hall to Lucy's room, I opened the door just as Lucy\s eyes shot open and shot up in a sitting position. I was sitting on her bed giving her a hug before either of us knew it. "Shh, calm down. It was just a nightmare, none of it was real." I soothed the blonde who was gasping for air in between sobs. "Bu-t i-it w-w-was s-so r-eal." She cried. I started to play with her hair while she kept crying. "Let's lie you down okay? It'll help you relax." I suggested. Lucy nodded and laid back down while I pulled the over her once again.

   "N-Natsu." Lucy sniffled. "Yea Luce?" The girl wiggled a bit and a slight pink colour crept to her cheeks. "C-could you sleep with me tonight?" She asked. Now it was my turn to blush. "Ah y-yea. I m-mean if it's what y-you want." i stuttered. She nodded then scooted over so I could get on the bed. I pulled the covers over us. "Natsu, can I hold your hand?" Lucy asked quietly. "Of course." I smiled trying to cheer her up. Lucy smiled weakly then grabbed my hand , intertwining our fingers together. Her hand was so cold, it was as cold as ice. I decided to use my fire to heat up my body to warm her up, and after a few minutes, sure enough, she was warmed up.

   I looked at the now sleeping blonde. You could never have guessed this girl was abuse and almost raped by only looking at her, she hides her pain so well. Suddenly her eyes shot open, looking straight into mine. We both stayed silent and stared into each others eyes. "Hey Luce, what was our nightmare about? It's okay if you do-" "Nah it's okay, I'll tell you." Lucy said cutting me off. "It was about you anyway." She said.

   A blush crept to my cheeks but quickly left after I remembered it was a nightmare she had. "Okay well whenever you're rea-" "You and I were fighting together, against Zeref." Lucy started, cutting me off. I would really appreciate it if she would stop that. "We were winning, Zeref was on the ground with broken bones, bruises and blood covering his entire being and also burned in several places. We stopped attacking and I was about to give the final blow but before I did I asked Zeref, "Any last words before I end your pitiful life?" He grinned evilly and said, "*Vnus magnus ignis Demon exaudi postulant. Ex tuum sopor, surge, et tollere lucem. Invocans to domino. Rise Etherious Natsu Dragneel!*"'

   "Then suddenly it grew very hot, I turned around and saw you on the ground, clutching your head. I called out to you but you didn't respond. Instead you looked at me and you had red eyes, and horns started to grow out of your head, and the shadows called on you and left these weird designs as tattoos. I went up to you and you pushed me away, making me fall. "Kill her." I heard Zeref say. I saw you smile evilly, it was nothing like the smiles that you've given me before, then everything went red. I woke up after that." Lucy finished tearing up just a little.

   Etherious Natsu Dragneel. Where have I heard of that before? I can't remember, curse my stupid memory! Putting that aside I can't help feel this isn't just a nightmare, but a vision of the future.

   "Natsu, that won't really happen, will it?" Lucy asked sadly. "No. It won't ever happen because I'm gonna protect you. I'm going to train everyday until the day comes when we have to destroy Zeref. I promise I'll never hurt again." I said pulling Lucy in for a hug. Memories back when I bullied Lucy flooded my mind. I will never ever hurt you again Lucy, even if I have to kill myself to keep that promise. She looked up at me with her pretty doe eyes. "Promise?" "Promise." I kissed her on the forehead while she giggled. It made me melt, her giggle sounds like bells chiming.

   "Let's get some sleep Natsu, we have school tomorrow." Lucy said snuggling closer to me. "Okay. Good night." I said snaking my arms around her waist. With that being said we both fell into a deep sleep in each others arms, no nightmares just dreams.
