I awoke the next morning; it was gloomy out and I noticed Belle was gone. I immediately panicked, where could she have gone? I ran upstairs looking frantically in my room; all the sudden I heard a door open up. She came from the bathroom dressed in fresh clothes; seemed like she had just got done doing her hair.
“Where the hell did you go?” I asked in a panicked voice.
“I went home, I grabbed about a months worth of clothes” She said smiling at me.
“Why, I don’t understand?”
“Well my dad is dead now and I have nowhere else to go, you are my closest friend and I want to make sure you’re safe” She said with a now serious, yet sad look on her face.
She skipped down my steps and ran into the kitchen; I followed slowly behind. I knew I wouldn’t be able to get my messages or check them without her hovering over me; I ran into my room and locked myself there. I got on and checked my messages; to my surprise I had none. I was a little sad and I knew for my own safety I shouldn’t care or be sad. I sat there thinking was I crazy? I had hardly slept because of his last note, so why on earth would I want to continue this game? I finally clicked on the compose icon and I wrote to him.
Tyler,
You can’t hide forever. I am being watched like a hawk now, my friend is staying here. Her dad got killed, she hasn’t talked about it much just that whatever it was killed him while they were out hiking. So I might be responding a little late, she is frightened. She is worried about my safety and I have to admit now I am scared. Until next time.
Nicole
Belle had run upstairs and started knocking on my door. I nearly jumped out of my skin. I shut my computer off and ran to unlock my door. I knew she was mad, the look on her face said it all.
“I am taking your computer and hiding it; I am scarred for you” She said her face now red as a tomato.
“Just calm down, please Belle don’t do this to me” I begged almost in tears.
“Do you see yourself; you are almost in tears over a guy you don’t even know” she yelled at me.
I stepped back and realized I had been too concerned with meeting Tyler; maybe a little more concerned than I should be. I ran down the stairs grabbed a bag full of hiking equipment and ran out the door. I didn’t care if I got hurt or not; my safety was no concern of hers and even though it should be mine, it wasn’t. I just wanted to get away from it all; maybe a break would fix this thing.
I started to hike up the hills. Sweat pouring from my face making my hair stick to me. I finally took a break. It had to be maybe three o’clock in the afternoon; I could catch a glimpse of the sun in between the trees. My mind was racing and I had absolutely no idea how far I had walked; I had no idea if I could find my way back home. I found an area that had some grass still attached to the earth so I decided to lie down; my eyes closed and nothing to bother me; I had found peace of mind.
Beep, beep, buzz, buzz, I woke up to darkness surrounding me and my phone going off. I immediately grabbed my phone and answered it.
“Your safety is my concern, I don’t care if it is yours or not” Said the same deep voice I heard Friday.
“Tyler?” I asked relieved to hear a voice.
“Please go home Nicole; I couldn’t live with myself if I let you get hurt” Click.
“Tyler” I screamed into the phone.
He had hung up, he was very concerned with me not being home; the question was how to get home?
