You walked out of the locker room with your best friend, BF/N. You both played for the school Varsity basketball game, and you had a home game against your rivals, The Wolves. Your team, The Tigers, has had a rivalry with the Wolves since 2010 when your team kicked them out of the semi-finals. Last time you guys played, it was away and you made an enemy. E/N (enemies name) hated you because you made a buzzer beater that defeated their undefeated streak.
"Nervous?" BF/N asks you, playfully poking your arm. You nod your head and BF/N starts squealing.
"What?" You ask, confused by her sudden outburst.
"Look in the first set of bleachers." She says to you, smiling widely. You look over into the first bleacher and your heart stops. You start smiling widely as you see your life long crush, C/N, sitting in the crowd. You've always had a crush on C/N since 8th grade track when you were both throwers and sprinters.
"Did you tell C/N about the game?" You ask to your best friend.
"I just found out he was coming," your best friend stops when she looks at E/N, "but it looks like E/N has eyes on C/N." You look at E/N and see them looking at C/N with a smile.
"Oh hell no. I've been waiting since 8th grade, she's not gonna waltz in here and snatch C/N from me." You say furiously, snapping in jealousy.
"Wow, someone's feisty." BF/N laughs, since she's never seen you this jealous. "Just, play your game the best you can. Show E/N what a force you are and how she shouldn't mess with you, ok?"
"Oh, now E/N is gonna see what I'm like." You growl as the ref blows the whistle. You hear C/N yell,
"Lets go Y/N! Woo!" You smile as the whistle blows for the jump ball. It's you and E/N. You jump up, but E/N instantly pushes you down. "What the hell was that!?" C/N yells, not liking what just happened. You look at C/N but nod it off, saying it's fine. C/N sits down and the game continues.
At halftime, you go over to the bleachers where your mom and C/N are sitting together.
"Honey, are you ok?" Your mom asks, seeing your eyes getting glassy.
"No, E/N elbowed me in the face and it really hurts!" You cry, bursting into tears. C/N instantly stands up and engulfs you in a tight hug, since this is the first time C/N has seen you cry. C/N passes you off to BF/N for a hug as C/N storms down off the bleachers and sees E/N talking to a group of friends.
"Hey! E/N!" C/N yells as they approach E/N. "What the hell did you do to Y/N! What makes you think you can hit Y/N like that!? Huh!?" C/N yells. You see that E/N is starting to back down, but not quite yet. You run up to C/N and put a hand on their shoulder.
"Hey, C/N, it's fine, ok? Please, it's not a big deal." You say to C/N, trying to calm the situation down. C/N turns to you, ready to protest, but sighs and walks away back to the bleachers with your mom.
"Yeah, you just keep doing that." E/N says with a smirk as they walk away.
Towards the end of the game, E/N constantly kept pushing me, hitting me, and doing things that would've been a foul. C/N has not been silent about it at all. C/N has been screaming the entire time, yelling about how it should've been a foul. Toy keep dribbling as the clock counts down. As it hits one second, you shoot the three pointer and make it in! The crowd goes insane! C/N goes insane, but stops when BF/N runs towards C/N with worry in their eyes.
"BF/N, what happened?" C/N asks.
"That piece of crap E/N punched her in the face! She's knocked out, and the medics are coming, and-" BF/N stops themselves and starts crying from worry. C/N runs down onto the court and finds you, sitting up with a bruise on your head.
"Are you ok!?" C/N exclaims in worry, helping you up.
"I'm fine, C/N. It was just a hit on the head." You say, getting up and walking over to the team.
"It wasn't just a hit on the head to me! That was a big deal to me!" C/N yells, grabbing your hand. "Look, the reason why I got so mad is because I really, really like you, Y/N."
"I really like you too, C/N." You say with a small smile.
"Would I have the honor of you being with me?"
"Always." You say before C/N gives you a kiss you'll never forget.
