Y/n never got her numbers checked but she assumes that she's still a long ways away from meeting him.

"Are you excited?" I smile over the intercom and Bucky hums softly.

"Seeing you for the first time?" Bucky smiles like a school girl with a crush. "Course."

"No I mean with your soulmate!" I laugh. "Steve says you've got less than a month." I say in a playful tone.

"I'm not thinking too hard on it you know, when it happens it happens."

"Oh shut up Buck. You're absolutely livid." I burst out laughing getting glares from people around me. "You're waiting anxiously by the door again, aren't you?" I muse.

"Oh no doll, I'm waiting for you."

"Bucky!" I gasp dramatically. "You bastard, what would your mother think?"

"Hey you two!" Tony calls out playfully. I smile from the secret Shield base. Bucky was going onto his first real mission with the others. Specifically his first Hydra mission. Cause right now it seemed they were the only enemy. A small part of me was still scared to let him go in, months of work down the drain all because of Hydra, as usual.

"Y/N? You still there thinking about my gorgeous face?" Both Bucky and I snort at Tony 's attempt to flirt. "Did you find us a way in yet?"

"Well with the cloaking device you can easily hide the train... but." I pause and continue hacking through Hydra system. "I'm trying to get passed their security, which isn't very advanced might I add. There's a field three miles away. Safely land there and wait for instructions." I continue to type coding into the computer and I hear Tony loudly sighing. "Complaint Stark?"

"If only Friday-"

"I'm not the one who insisted she needed to rake a day off to update." I singsong.

"Well if I was there it would have been d-" Tony began to speak.

"I'm in, you were saying?" Everyone chuckles through the intercom. "Oh and there should be a back door facing west of where you just landed." You're just teasing Tony now.

"You guys are just a dick." Tony replied. "Oh sorry Cap, mind my language." He joked.

"I swear I'm never going to live that down." Steve mumble, and I giggled in response.

I turn back to the computers hearing rushed, quiet movements. Hacking into the facility camera I keep up-to-date. I turn off the intercom next so that's it's only me and Bucky. "You're doing great Buck." I watch him take down five men at once and he chuckles.

"Glad to know I'm impressing someone." He chuckles.

I watch him check the corridor, guarding it as Tony hacks the computers by hand, Steve and Natasha looking through files cabinets, meanwhile Barton and Thor check for civilian.

I turn back to the screen with Bucky. "Bucky? You there?" I ask and silence follows. "Bucky?" I repeat, trying hard not to let the panic show. Already I'm motivated to think of all the worst scenarios. The first one being what if he has an episode. I panic and call his name again. Louder this time.

"I'm here." I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. "Sorry, there was a scumbag in the John trying to finish up his business and hide." I laugh and shake my head.

"What am I'm going to do with you." I'm even more relieved as he comes into view with a Hydra agent with just boxers and button up on. "Stark just bought leather settings for the jet." I warn.

"I know." Bucky looks up at the camera and smirks. "Good job Buck." I praise him again, more for my comfort he was safe. He was my responsibility now. My personal damsel in distress.

"Agent Y/L/N." Phil smiles and nods for me to sit down, but instead I reach for a sprite in the mini fridge then sit.

"Phil."

"Are you ready to come home?"
