And Life Goes On

And then We Fell Asleep

                        It was Friday, after school and I couldn't contain my glee and excitement. All  that we talked about throughout the day was this movie marathon that we were going to have. 

                       Aunt Cherry was going on a weekend vacation with max, my old tutor so she wouldn't be in the house tonight. The idea kinda scared me because if something went wrong how was I supposed to handle it. 

                     While I was bringing down pillows and blankets to the living room, my phone started to ring from the kitchen. I went in the kitchen to see a caller ID that I didn't recognize. I hesitantly answered. 

                 "Hello?", I asked. 

            "Hey Leila, It's me", Anthony said in his deep, masculine voice. "How did you get my number?", I asked. 

            "Oh...um , Teddy didn't tell you. He gave it to me", he said stuttering along the way. "How could he have gotten my number, didn't even give it to him". 

             "Teddy told me that he got it from your phone, after he got your permission". How the hell did this kid possibly get my phone and get my number. I don't even remember having my phone out when I was at school. But one thing I knew for sure was that I was going to kill him. Not literally because I'm too nice to go to jail. but I was definitely going to get him back. 

             "Well, I was hoping you'd let me come over early so we can get snacks from the store", said Anthony.

            "Why can't you just go with the one of the guys on your way here?", I questioned. "Well I don't know what type of candy you like and I know what candy everybody else likes so we can tag team and get the stuff together".

           "Okay", I agreed. I guess I didn't mind going to the store to pick out candy, especially if it's with Anthony. I mean who would turn down the opportunity to go candy shopping. Everybody loves candy, and I love it the most. I  gave Anthony my address. 

           "Great, so I'll be there in half an hour", said Anthony ending our call. I checked the time of my phone and saw that it is five o'clock. Everyone said they would be here around 6: 30, which meant we had plenty of time to go to the store and come back.

           I had changed into a pair of gray sweatpants and a black shirt. I paired this outfit with chestnut colored, short Uggs. I also put my hair in a loose ponytail. I decided it would be best to wear a comfortable outfit, considering I was coming right back to my house, and I would only be watching movies.

         At 5:32 I heard the doorbell ring while I was upstairs. I went downstairs and opened the door to see a smiling Anthony on my porch. "Hey", Anthony said revealing his dimples as he spoke. "Are you ready to go?". 

      "Sure", I said grabbing a light jacket from the coat hanger near the door. We walked towards Anthony's car which was a black Dodge Charger. "Nice car", I complimented. 

      "Thanks", said Anthony, going around to the drivers side. I got in the car and put on my seat belt. We then drove down the streets leading to the store. We drove in a comfortable silence and listened to music the whole way there. 

      When we got into the store the first thing I did was run to the candy aisle. "Wow, eager much?", Anthony said smirking. "Well considering I haven't touched candy in forever, I kind of have  the right to be". 

         Anthony laughed at my statement. I picked out skittles, miniature airheads, nerds, and hi-chews, because who doesn't love Japanese candy. "What did you get?", I asked Anthony as we stood on line, waiting to be called upon by a cashier.
