C h a p t e r XXIX
K e n a d i a

I took a deep breath, lowering my barefoot to the glowing water of death. I was already dead; what more could happen? But just before I could touch the water, the clear blue sky began to build up with grey angry clouds that rolled furiously over our heads, sending a fierce darkness over the clearing.

Hisses began to spit out of everyone's mouths, their beautiful faces turning into ugly snarls as they looked up at the sky. The creatures in the water swam away, disappearing with animalistic sounds erupting from their clenched teeth.

"What did you do?" My sister sneered furiously at me, her sharp row of teeth grew dangerously, spiking out of her mouth like spears. Her lips ripped across her cheeks as her deadly teeth slashed open her flesh.

I watched in shock and terror as one by one everyone turned to me, their teeth now ferocious fangs even scarier than a vampires. Their eyes glowed red as they hissed and snarled at me. My body was trembling and a cold sweat was running down my skin. I was so confused. What did I do?

"You don't belong here." My sister spat out at me, "You've done the unspeakable." Her eyes were a deep red as she stepped towards my shaking body.

I backed away, catching myself as I stumbled on the rocks before the pond water. I looked down at the water and my body instantly tried to recoil. The water had turned a thick black as it reached out, wrapping around my legs like sticky hands, slowly moving up my legs and devouring me in the blackness.

My eyes flashed helplessly to Saffron who's face was in a snarl, but not at me, at the water slowly dragging me into the darkness.

"She didn't do anything!" She hissed at my sister, her blue eyes begging her.

Alina turned to glower at her, "It doesn't matter! The forest has been betrayed to bring her back!" Her eyes flashed full force onto me, "You've betrayed us." Her voice was a low and dangerous growl as a great deal of pain showed on her transformed monstrous face.

And with one strong push to my chest, I was suddenly falling back into the dark abyss behind me.

I caught Saffrons eyes before I was swallowed up. "I will fix this, Kenna! Stay alive!"

And then it was all gone as I was dragged down into the inky blackness. No matter how hard I fought against, I was eventually pulled under into nothing.

Ohhhhh that was scary. Damn. Pretty things can be so vicious.
Sorry it's so short. This is kind of part one, I wanted a Viridian chapter before I put the second part up. (The second part is just as epic.)
