Chapter 7

"Here we are" Brady says from the back seat.

We all get out of the car

Their hideout is a medium sized cabin that looks like it has 2 levels. It's also in the forest, but close enough that its a 10 minute walk to town.

"This is it?" I ask.

"Yup!" Alex says.

The people inside must of heard the car pull up because a blonde and black haired girl and boy rush out with pistols in their hands.

"Alex who the hell are they?!" The girl asks once she takes notice of Olivia and I

"Calm down Sarah, they might be joining the group"

The boy beside this Sarah raises his eyebrows and steps forward

"Are you fucking kidding me?! We don't need anybody else Alex!"

Alex sighs

"Randel stop it okay, you weren't accepted when you first came so you know how it feels"

Well geesh that shut him up.

"Follow me and I'll show you your rooms" Alex says then he heads into the house and we all follow him, with Sarah and Randel giving Olivia and I dirty looks.

The inside of the cabin is smaller then it looks in the outside.

"Nice place" I mutter under my breathe

"Thanks" Alex says turning around and smirking at me, which I roll my eyes at.

"So uh this is the kitchen, all the food goes here, same with water" I nod with what Alex says.

"That's the living room,obviously and here under the stairs is the bathroom"

Alex motions to a door under the stairs. And surely enough when the door is pushed open it reveals a bathroom.

"Living the harry potter life" I mutter under my breath.

"And upstairs is the bedrooms"

Alex leads us up the stairs and there's surprisingly 5 bedrooms.

"Hannah you'll be sharing a room with Sarah, Olivia you'll be sharing with Ken, so just settle yourself in" Alex finishes.

He shows us which room we'll we bunking in then we enter the rooms.

When I go into the room I'll be sharing with Sarah I see her sitting on the top bunk of the bunk bed cleaning a shotgun.

"Oh fuck" whispers to herself

I roll my eyes

"Nice to see you too"

"What the hell are you doing in my room?!" She asks while jumping down to the floor

"Actually you mean our room"

Her face twisted into something of anger and disbelief

"You fucking kidding me?" She exclaims

"I wish" I say then walk past her putting my bag on the bed then emptying out the food and water bottles I have.

"You have food" she states.

I nod and push past her and go downstairs and turn off the stairs to go to the kitchen but accidentally bump into someone.

"HEY- oh, Hannah"

I smile

"I have food for the cupboards" i explain

"Oh! Well in that case follow me" he says.

I follow him to the kitchen and opens a large corner cupboard.

"Put the food somewhere in here" he instructs.

I put it all in except for the berries and water.

"I have berries too so does Olivia so these go I the fridge right?"

Alex nods and I open the fridge and put the water and berries in and discover that Olivia's already been in there.

"You have 2 guns?" Alex asks me

"Yeah, Olivia and I both do" I answer

"Great" he answers

I raise one eyebrow

"Everyone has 2 guns so that gives us a lot of weaponry"

"We both have 2 knives too if that helps" I offer

He smiles at me

"Excellent"

"So uh what do you guys actually do around here?" I ask.

"Well we patrol around the woods and check out the highway, and sometimes if we absolutely need to a couple of us venture into the city for anything we need like medicines and clothing"

I nod with what he says

"So you've got yourselves pretty organized around here" I say

Alex nods

"Yeah, occasionally things get a bit out of hand but it always gets sorted out"

I just nod.

We just stand there being awkwardly quiet until the boy I remember as Randel busts through the door

"Alex we need help! NOW!"

Alex walks past me quickly

"What wrong?"

"There's runners outside!"

"What are runners?!" I ask

Randel takes a deep breathe and rolls his eyes

Jackass

"There zombies that haven't been zombies for to long but they run" he explains.

Alex turns to me

"Go get a gun"

My face twists a bit

"Me? I just got here-"

"We're gonna need help if there's runners close by, now come on"

Alex grabs a shotgun from the couch and I run upstairs into Sarah and I's room, she gives me a weird look as I grab my shotgun and an extra shell then run back out.

Once I'm downstairs I see Alex and Randel waiting for me

"Ready?" Alex asks me with a small smile

I nod

"Let's go"

First of all I am SO SORRY this chapter was so short,I had writers block and couldn't think of anything to write at the time.

BUT I promise the next chapter will be better and longer!
