Chapter 10: High Tide

June’s P.O.V:

I walk out of Ella’s apartment . She's angry because of the way I reacted to Zayn's question. How was I supposed to react to that! I wasn't prepared. I'm not ready. Heck, I'm scared and I don't even know why!

I walk down a familiar street and walk towards the hotel where Ben, my brother was staying. The watchman salutes me while the other staff members greet me on my way.

I walk through the door and I see the familiar warm honey brown eyes and brown hair of my brother.

“June! Long time no see!” He says happily hugging me tightly and moving aside to let me enter.

“Yeah, it has been a long time Ben. What’s up with the accent mate?” I ask him playfully.

“Oh! I went to Australia for a short vacation. What about you?” 

“Can I stay here for today? I don’t feel like going home.” 

“Something's wrong isn't it?” 

I nod my head like a child and slowly start relating everything to him. He silently listens to everything I say, nodding occasionally. Apparantly he was surprised when I mentioned One Direction. Strange.

“So many things happened and I didn’t even get so much as a call? Now I am hurt.” He says while putting his hand on his chest and pretending to be in pain. I smile and gently place his hand n the left side of his chest which he had very conveniently placed it on the wrong side. He looks at me then at the hand then again at me. Then he bursts out laughing causing me to laugh too.

“Know what? We should go out and have some sister-brother-fun-time!” He exclaims loudly and drags me outside the apartment.

Zayn’s P.O.V:

I just poured out my feelings for June in front of the lads and the girls and she clearly told me on my face that she has no interest in me. I won’t lie, it hurt. A lot. The person you love has no interest in you and only wants to stay as friends is the most cliché and frustrating thing ever.

Des and Liam had baked a cake for everyone to make us feel better, it's delicious but I am in no mood for it.

“Where is June?” I ask Destiny. Everybody freezes for a moment. They all look at Destiny who is frozen with a cup of coffee  midway towards her lips. She  looks at me clueless as if it's fully obvious that she shouldn't know.

“Umm...” She began.

"She went out." Liam replied curtly.

“Alone? Why didn’t one of you guys go with her? She might be all alone in the streets.” I say to them. I was concerned, even though she had just broken my heart. 

“Don’t worry. I think I know where she is. The person we should worry about is Harry.” Destiny says. That's when I notice that both Elizabeth and Harry are missing.

“Liam what happened? Wasn't she with you before she left?” Louis asks.

"I honestly have no idea." Liam shrugged.

"We need to look for them. We don't want the papparazzi making up more rubbish." I say.

"I agree." 

“I am going to go find June.” I say.

“We’ll come along” Louis and Niall say standing up. 

"Somebody needs to stay at home. In case they come back." I say.

"We'll stay." Des said indicating Liam and her.
