It was around 4 O'clock in the morning and I was packing my things. Enough for a week, im going to Sierra's house to get away for a while. I figured it was best for the both of us.

I put my bookbag on my back and slipped on my shoes and proceeded downstairs. As I attempted to creep down the steps I heard the tv running. So I peeked into my dad's room only to see him sleep while something on BET was playing.

I slowly shut the door and walked downstairs. I walked out the door only to be mate by the cold breeze. I shivered a bit while zipping up my jacket and pulling on my hood.

_

I was now around the corner from Sierra's house. It's so scary in her neighborhood, there's lots of abandoned houses, dark alleyways, and drug dealers. Everytime I hear leaves ruffling against the ground I quickly look back. Hoping that there's no one else around me.

I began to sing to keep my mind off of those things.

🎶There's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark you should know your beautiful just the way you are and you don't have to change a thing the world can change it's heart no scars til your beautiful where stars and where beautiful.🎶

That's one of the songs I wrote and I showed it to my dad. I asked him could he take me to the studio one day. But he doesn't want me to have anything to do with this industry. He thinks it will change me.

I arrived at Sierra's house and I began to softly knock on the door. Trying not to be loud and wake her mother. The door slowly opened revealing her brother. I sighed and asked. "Where is Sierra?"  He moved to the side letting me in."Upstairs, why you out here so late?" He responded.

"Uh-umm me and Sierra have to finish a school project together and it's due today so she told me to come here early because she wouldn't have a way to my house." He simply nodded showing that he really didn't care.

I  walked up the steps to Sierra's room and plopped down on her bed. "What-what the hell are you doing here?!" She quickly jumped up. "I- Can I stay here for a few days." I said lowly as I felt a lump in my throat.

"What's wrong why do you need to stay here." She
asked."

"I just need to get away from home." She looked at me. "Are you running away from home." I nodded as tears plopped onto my hands from my eyes.

"What the hell is wrong with you, you can't be doing that ya daddy's gonna kill you." She's just making it worse now I'm even more terrified to go back home.

"How long are you planning on staying here?" I shrugged my shoulders."Maybe a week."

"Uh-uh look your my bestfriend and all but you can't stay here for no week they gonna send the cops here and my mama can get in trouble for that." She said

"But you can stay here until Sunday night, Langston can drop you off." I nodded my head and walked to the bathroom.

"Fine." I sighed. I got up and walked to the bathroom.

"Why does my life have to be like this,  why can't we choose our own lives?" I asked myself as I stared at my reflection in the Mirror.

"Maybe things would be better if I wasn't alive. If I kill myself know all of my problems would go away."
