A/N - So good news and better news.  One is, this chapter is when plot starts to happen!  Wooooo~  Yes, you are getting a tinsy glimpse which means, soon the plot will be in full swing, the resolution and conclusion will follow and then I'm going to give you all an epilogue~  But that's not for a few more chapters yet (Also keep in mind that I do have a pretty dark chapter stored, but I'll warn you when I post that).  Better news is this, I'm been writing crazy all day today as my friends finally came back from DC today and I got to see them again!  So that was all cool, and with my good mood and writing spree, I have almost completed the rest of my script.  Yep, soon I will be posting from script that means regular updates~   So, I do hope you enjoy the beginning of the end as they say!  If I can, I may post yet another chapter tonight, but that's if I fix some bugs and feel froggy X3

The next morning, Obi surprisingly woke up on his own. He was a bit of himself to be truthful. He groggily lifted himself from his bed and went to wash himself and get ready for the day. He was soon freshly cleaned and dressed, he decided again today to where the crimson scarf and left his room to Zen's study. Once entering, Zen was surprised to see him up early and all by himself too. He looked around, taking notice that Alice wasn't here. Zen seemed to notice this, but Kiki spoke up before he could.

"Alice is still sleeping. Do me a favor and go get her." Obi looked to Kiki as she was standing in a corner of the room, leaning against a wall with her arms crossed as she looked to Obi. Obi was even more surprised that he was up before Alice was, she was usually so straight-laced and up at the crack of dawn. Now that he thought about it, maybe that nightmare kept her up longer last night. He nodded and left the room, walking rather rapidly to Alice's chamber. He arrived at her door and stood before it. He lightly tapped at her door with the backs of his knuckles and waited to see if he would receive a reply. After getting nothing but silence, he slowly opened the door, hoping to see her sleeping on her bed and not to repeat yesterday's mistake.

He peered carefully through the door and saw nothing in the large open room. He sighed and opened the door fully to slowly step in and close the door behind him. He noticed the washroom was unoccupied so the chance of Alice stepping out was now zero and it put Obi at ease. He then started towards her bed in the back of the large room. He heard his boot dull steps echo as he soon also heard faint, steady breathing. He grinned as he soon saw Alice, laying on her bed fast asleep. Her blankets were tangled about her feet and legs as it rested on her hips. Her over-sized tee-shirt was disheveled and pushed up, revealing a portion of her stomach. One of her arms was up and placed beside her head, the other rested on her bare stomach. Her hair was a mess as it was fanned everywhere, beneath her pillow, under her hand, pinned beneath her hair and hovering above her head, dropping off the mattress.

He knew he had to wake her, but he simply didn't want to. He would let her sleep a few minutes more. He then noticed, sitting on her desk behind him was her sketchbook she had the first day she met him and next to it her necklace. He made his way to the desk and ran his fingers over the leather of the book. He didn't know if it was a horrible decision to open the book or not, but he unconsciously did. He slowly opened the cover and began flipping through the pages. The book was only halfway filled out, the rest was the endless pages of white, waiting for their chance to be art. Her pictures were of many people. He saw the picture of old woman who let her borrow a flute at the festival, he saw sketches of the children she played with, of Zen and the others and even some of himself.

Then, one caught his eye. In the beginning of the book was a sketch of a man wearing a long cloak. He wore a trench coat that was bound at his waist and a sword attached at his back. His hair was bound with cloth as it was long and went to his waist, longer than Alice's even. His eyes held no color, as it was a black and white sketch, but they were narrow and icy. He looked to Alice and wondered who this man was? Was he someone she knew back in her homeland? Her lover maybe? He didn't know and it somewhat irritated him. He shook his head and closed the book and went back to Alice's side and decided to wake her. He gently shook her shoulder, softly calling for her, telling her to wake up. She grimaced as she tightly held her eyes closed before groaning and opening them. She blinking a few times and yawns rubbing her eyes as she looked up at Obi. Obi stood back up straight and then took a seat on the edge of her bed.

"Nng.. what time is it?" She yawned once more as she sat up. Obi stifled a laugh at her image. Her shirt hung loose on her body and it revealed one of her shoulders. Her face was one of pure dizziness and her hair was something else entirely. Strands tangling with each other or just spouting off her head like daisies. Alice continued to look at him unamused until he cleared his throat and began to speak to her.

"It's about time to wake up and start your daily work?~" Alice looked at him like he just lowered her IQ in one stupid sentence.

"Well gee, thanks so much for your oh-so-helpful response." Obi hadn't seen Alice first thing in the morning before, and he didn't expect so much sass from her either. He found it rather amusing and charming in it's own way. It only made her personality that much more attractive. He took a moment to ponder on his thoughts that only made Alice more irritated because he came into her room unannounced again, and woke up her up, then proceeded to just sit there and daze off. She then decided to take this chance and slowly lift herself from her blankets, now on her knees on her bed and lock her arm around his neck and lock it in place and began to pull, effectively putting him in a brilliant headlock.

Obi snapped out of his daze rather forcefully and began flailing around as his lack of air. He turned his head as much as he could in the position he found himself in and saw Alice holding his head in place within her arms and her legs wrapped around his back and locked around his chest holding him in place. His arms tried prying the fuming girls arms off as her face seemed like that of a demon. She was one pissed off woman.

"You barge in yet again, proceed to wake me up, and then waste my time staring into space! You sure have got some nerve don't you, you damn cat!!" She pulled harder against his body before quickly releasing him and throwing him across the room only for him to hit the ground and roll until he rather forcefully hit the wall, his front side making the contact. His boyd peeled off the wall and fell backwards, his face red at his previous loss of air mixed with the rough connection with the hard drywall. He then looked up and saw a fuming red-head standing above him, her arms crossed and he swore he saw her eyes glowing. Obi quickly blinked and shifted himself up, to where he sat down upright, facing him and trying to calm her down.

"Listen to me for a moment Little Red. Miss Kiki. She wanted me to wake you up, it's gotten quite late, so she asked me to since she was busy and all!" Alice's demon aura seemed to calm as she then replaced her anger with a sigh. She held her forehead and groaned sitting on the cross across from Obi, her legs crossed beneath her. Obi looked at her, very confused. Alice then began laughing loud and hard. Obi was now ten times more confused than before.

"Sorry Obi! I'm a not really this rude of a person first thing in the morning, you just happened to catch me on a day morning!" Obi made a face that made his thoughts heard. You know, the typical 'are you kidding me' face. "Ah, come now~ You're a trained man, you should've been able to handle that little bit of roughhousing." Obi crossed his arms and just continued to look at her like he was being falsely accused of something.

"Oh really. I'm not trained to calm down a demon lady-" Alice's body seemed to create this, air of threat as it sent chills up his spine, he dare not finish his sentence. Despite her smiling face, it seemed dangerous. It put the phrase killing someone with kindness into action. "Um- well, I mean. I didn't really mean 'demon' rather than a surprise attack is all."

"Well you could've avoided it if you weren't so busy spacing out in a lady's room."

"Well pardon me if I was thinking about you.." He muttered under his breath and Alice couldn't quite catch it so she just replied with a command for him to raise his voice. He merely brushed it off and stood, offering his hand to her as well. Taking it, she stood up and stretched yet again. He fixed his clothing and adjusted his scarf before placing his hands behind his head. "I'm going to leave now. I did my job and you're awake. I'd get ready for the day Little Red~"

"Yeah yeah, no need to tell to do everything. Just leave." Alice ever so slightly tapped his arm before turning to her wardrobe and making her way there. She searched through her clothes as Obi made his way to the door. He unlatched the lock and opened it, making a final sarcastic goodbye to the red hair and leaving. He walked down the hall to begin making his way to Shirayuki's place of work, she should be there already in any case. Yet, the morning may have been peaceful, the day was going to be far from it; it was noon when the havoc began.
