Akagami No Shirayukihime - Obi x (OC) The Visitor

Chapter 6 - "I Promise."

The men themselves, weren't in a good condition and looked like they were ready to fall over unconscious. One man tettered forward and rushed at her, his goal to throw her into the river. However, he was the one to go. She bent her body forward and his body was thrown from his legs into the river, the other men soon came at her as well when she was distracted.

"Alice!" The men had stopped and turned at the new voice behind them. There stood Obi, glaring and seething in rage. Alice looked at Obi in disbelief.

"Why did you.. I told you to get him-" Alice began to protest in his presence, Obi was having none of that.

"He's safe!" Was his only response before the two men left standing broke apart and one man took to each warrior. It wasn't long until the four people were throwing punches, weapons were drawn and blood from cuts flew. Obi was growing impatient. He gripped the upper part of one of his enemy's arm and flipped him to where his back was on the ground, then issued a swift and solid connection to his head with his boot. It did the trick of knocking the man out cold. He then turned to Alice's fight.

She was in a battle of strength, her fingers laced with her opponents, trying to push him away from her, trying to gain some ground, but he had pushed her to the edge of the bank, one false move and the murky ground would give and she'd fall into the rushed currents of cold river water. Her ears perked up at the sound of Obi running to get closer to her, her eyes glanced in his direction and widened at his face. He seemed so desperate to get to her, and with that one glance, her concentration was lost for but a moment, but that moment was enough to have her thrown backwards.

Her body flew backwards and it seemed like time slowed down. The enemy was not yet done however, even after thrusting her back into the air, the moment her body almost connected with water, a sharp, painful stab was immediately felt in her stomach. Obi merely shoved past the man as Alice's body hit the water and he, without hesitation, dove it for her. It was like his body was acting on instinct, he didn't bother with her attacker, he just wanted her.

And he got her. He broke the water's surface with Alice to his chest. He held her body close to him as felt the water way dip and he tumbled to the base of the waterfall in that small lake they had found, holding Alice. They burst through the water and Obi swam to the bank before gasping for air. He heard nothing now, the attackers were gone. His attention was brought to Alice as he hovered over her soaking form.

Her hair had came undone as it stuck to her face and neck. Her clothes were drenched as were Obi's, and her breath was hitched and she gasped for air. Obi scanned her body and his eyes widened as he saw it.

Sticking out from her abdomen, was a hilt of a knife. It was different from the ones earlier, just by the looks of the hilt, it seemed like a standard straight knife for close combat. He didn't know what to do, he was confused. He couldn't pull the knife out, Alice would bleed to death, but if he kept it in.. He was lost and had no idea what he could do. The only logical thing was to find a way to travel back to Clarines as fast a possible and get her some sort of medical treatment.

Carefully, Obi reached round her back and lifted her up, his arms behind her and beneath her knees, he carefully and protectively cradled her body to his own. Her head hung slightly and she was weak, he looked at her through narrow, soft eyes and whispered to her before taking off, running to help, hoping he would make it somewhere, or to someone, in time.

"I promise.. I won't let you die..."

Wooooow.  Okay so this chapter is SUUUUUPER short because we have caught up with my script!  DUN-DUN-DUUUUUUUN!!!  Yes from this point on, I will continue to write the story so the updates may be slower.  I hopefully will still have some sort of routine and since this weekend is my last Drill Meet for JROTC, and it will be ending my Drill season (Cries. I love Drill), I will have loads of free time starting very soon.  Hope y'all are enjoying the story, sorry for the short chapter, but more to come!!
