Its 7 am and I have to get to class. Colby knows that and so of course he messaged me.

C: hey Golbach, I've got a question
S: yeah?
C: what are you planning to be?
S: uh... Honestly.. I dont know, I'll probably just get an office job or something.
C: is that what makes you happy?

I clicked my screen off and stared blankly at the black screen. I've never really thought about that.

I know its kind of stupid to go into college not knowing what you want, but I figured that since all freshman have to take standard classes anyway, I'd have an extra year to think about it, but I never thought about whether it'll make me happy or not.

My screen lit up and I unlocked it to see his message.

C: thats what im thinking too, but I dont think its what I really want to do.
S: well what do you want to do?
C: I want to help people
S: then do it.
C: how? I mean, doctors help people, therapists help people, but thats not what I want. You know? I dont want to do those things.

Maybe this was whats been bothering him... No, theres more to it. This has to be only one minor thing bothering him.

S: I understand what you mean. I really dont know though, I'll have to get back to you with the answer some other time.
C: sorry, that was so random.
S: no its fine, its cute that you want to help people.
C: So you think I'm cute?

I could almost see the smirk on his face. That cheeky fucker.

S: dont flatter yourself
C: too late
S: you really like to get on my nerves, dont you?
C: at least im able to get onto something of yours
C: just kidding
S: you could get on more, but it'll cost you. 😂
C: are you saying you'd sell yourself to me, Golbach?
C: ... How much?

I laughed at his response which caused random people on campus to stare at me.

S: wouldnt matter, too much for you.
C: You dont have to be a meany 😢
S: You're so weird 😂
C: Says you
S: I'm offended
C: good, I'm glad
S: well then
C: 😂

I walked into a pole and realized its probably time to get off the phone

S: alright well bye, I've got class and I'm not a rebel like you, I'm not going to waste my time texting someone.
C: oh thats so lame!
S: bye!
C: bye 😕
