A/N what Colby told the cop to get out of trouble. Ch 39

Colby POV:

Sam had gone to sit on the curb, so the officer and I had walked down towards his car. Even though he was letting us off on a warning, he wanted to ask why we kept going into the building in the first place.

"I just dont see why you kids would find it fun. The place is falling apart. I dont mean to be the bad guy, but you could get hurt in there" the officer tried explaining.

I stuck my hands in my jackets pockets and raised my shoulders. I had been kicking around a rock for the few minutes we had been taking.

"Thats life for you" was all i responded with.

People worlds come crashing down all the time. The building represented life and getting hurt in there is just what happens sometimes.

"What?"

"Nothing, nevermind." I stopped kicking around the rock and stood straight. "Listen, officer, I'm real sorry for sneaking into the building, but uh-you see my friend over there"

The officer sighed deeply and looked over to Sam. I turned my attention over to him as well. He had just been sitting on the curb, waiting patiently for me to walk him back home.

Sam did look really cute at this moment though. He wasn't doing anything but sitting down. Hell, he wasn't even smiling, but something about Sam Golbach made my heart beat quick and my knees go weak.

"I really, really like him. Not only is this place my comfort zone, but I really and truly love coming here and watching the pond behind this dump with him. I know thats not a good excuse, but it's all i've got. Can you let my friend and I go now? I've got to walk him home... I wanted to confess as well..." i mumbled the last bit, but I knew the officer heard it.

With a giant grin on his face, the officer nodded and patted my back.

"Alright, alright. You two have fun then, but uh- dont go back in the building, at least while im here. Out of sight out of mind, you know?"

I nodded and smiled cheekily before turning and walking back over to Sam. He looked up at me and I smiled down at him. I held out my hand to help him up, and as I did I reassured him all is well.

"Everything's cool. Lets go, I'll walk you home" I said.
