Chapter 10: Spreading Like A Disease.

(Your PoV)

I walked down the hall by myself during lunch. I had already devoured a huge breakfast and that was still keeping me full. So I decided to just roam the halls, it was my own quiet time and I appreciated it.

I hummed and walked leisurely down the hall until I seen three heads huddled together near the water fountain. Knowing instantly who they were, I smiled and confidently spoke up.

"Hey guys!" Eren, Armin, and Mikasa all turned their heads towards you as I spoke to them. Armin was the only one who seemed happy to see me.

"Hey (Y/N), how are you?" Armin asked softly.

"Fine, thank you for asking. Um, why are you two frowning?" I asked specifically to Eren and Mikasa. Eren wrenched his fist together in anger before saying to Mikasa,

"Let's go somewhere else. Somewhere without backstabbing liars." Mikasa nodded and followed, a small bounce followed in her step.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and asked curiously,

"What just happened?" Armin sighed lightly and said,

"Somehow word got to Eren that you and Levi were making out in the park. He seemed really upset about it." My eyes widened at the information I was given.

"No..that was an accident.." Armin shook his head.

"I tried to explain to him that maybe that's what it was, and that he shouldn't believe things before he knows what really happened but you know how he is." I sighed and nodded in agreement.

"Thanks Armin, you hang in there." Armin smiled and nodded, before going to catch up with Eren and Mikasa.

I continued to walk down the hallway, but this time I walked at a slower, much lonelier pace.

"Who would spread such exasperated rumors? And why would Eren believe them? He's suppose to be on my side.." I groaned and stopped once I came to the entrance of the lunch room. I had no idea how I ended up there, but somehow I did.

Instinctively, I started to walk over to where Eren was sitting, but icy glares were shot my way before I could even get there. I sighed once again and turned around, this time making eye contact with Levi. He nodded his head towards me as if to say, "come here."

I walked to his table and sat down beside him, not really acknowledging anyone else at his table.

Levi eyed me and asked,

"What is it?" I turned to look at him with the sad look still in my eyes. He whispered to me,

"Who did this?" I took a quick glance to Eren's table and whispered back,

"Someone seen us..you know..kissing in the park. They said we were making out and word got to Eren. He flat out called me a backstabbing liar. I didn't realize until now how hurt I am." Levi glared at Eren, in which Eren reciprocated. I grabbed onto Levi's wrist and got his attention.

"Please don't make it worse. I don't know who spread these rumors but they're already way too out of hand." I rested my forehead on the table and closed my eyes. My heart ached, it really did. Maybe this was karma for being angry at Eren, but I had every right to be.

My thoughts wondered and I suddenly thought,

"Some bestfriend he is, if he really loved me like he said he did he would try to find out the truth. He's too stubborn for his own good." I sighed for the umpteenth time today and raised my head. Levi looked over at me and said sharply,

"(Y/N), we're going to find out who did this. Everything's going to be okay." I bit my lip and gently rested my head on Levi's shoulder, not caring who was watching.

"I hope you're right Levi."
