After their mini shopping spree, The two teenagers headed back towards Isabel's apartment. When they got back inside, they headed straight into Isabel's bedroom. Joshua handed Zeliya the brand new notebook that he had bought for her. "Thank you so much, I appreciate this" Zeliya told Joshua. "It's not a problem" He had replied. "Well, Isa, I'm gonna go hang out with Harry" Zeliya mentioned. "Oh, okay, have fun Liya" "Who's Harry?" Joshua questioned. "Harry is our little brother, his name is Harold but we nickname him Harry" Zeliya answered. "What's your nickname?" Joshua asked Zeliya. "My nickname is Liya, Isabel's is Isa, my sister Lilian is Lilly and my brother Justin is Jay-Jay. Do you have a nickname?" Zeliya had replied. "My nickname is Josh" Zeliya let out a smile then said "Well, I'll catch you later Josh" as she was walking towards the living room. "So what about you Josh? What's your life like?" Isabel was curious to know as prior to their whole conversation, it seemed to be all about her. "Well, for starters, I never knew who my father was. He walked out on my mom while she was pregnant, leaving me without a father figure in my life. My mom was practically both of my parents. Growing up was hard since she was an alcoholic, to help her cope with the pain she had received. She always brought home different men and they'd leave money on the kitchen counter. At the time, I never understood why they would leave money, but one day when I was thirteen, a man named Manny walked into our lives and changed it drastically. He and my mother got married and had two more children, Noah and Alexis. He was very supportive of me and my mom. Manny helped her recover from being an alcoholic. He made our lives so much easier." "I'm so sorry that you had to go through so much growing up, it just doesn't seem fair" Isabel said sympathetically. "Don't be, it has shaped me into the person that I am today. Yeah, I was depressed for a long amount of time, at such a young age, but that's why I strive to help as many people as I possibly can. After all, it's the origin of me, it's what started it all, and you should never forget where you came from" Joshua explained. He has a very wise mindset that not everyone has.
