I walked through the quite halls to my room and then went straight to the showers. The big wide room was empty and quite, save for the dripping of one of the faucets in the front of the two rows of booths. Right when you walk in, you see two rows to the left and right with sheets separating each shower. I took my spot at the end in the right corner and flipped the faucet to the right until the stall filled with steam.

The hot water revived me, as I tried to forget the terrors of the dream I had last night.

"I'll get you back" I told myself, head against the wall, letting the water fall on my shoulders and flow down my back. I stood there until my fingers wrinkled and switched it off, grabbing the towel I wrapped around the top of the bar that held the curtain. I slid it aside and walked out and ran right into Amaris.

She looked me up and down and her face turned a bright shade of red, surprise evident on her face. She was wearing the standard Natura sleepwear with a towel over her shoulder and her hair up in a ponytail. She had no makeup on, but still, every time I saw her I was surprised by her beauty. But at this moment she did not look particularly happy with me. Her face had morphed from surprise to one of annoyance.

I tried to speak but no sound came out as she stalked past me and vanished into one of the shower stalls and turned her shower on.

Remembering the conversation we had about last night, and the hurt on her face when I brought up Her and Garrett made me flinch, and I wished I could have that moment back.

I put on my combat pants and white Natura shirt, with my standard boots and went on my way to breakfast.

I assumed it was still pretty early, but was still pretty shocked to find the cafeteria nearly empty. The only occupants were a couple kids at a nearby table doing what looked like homework, and at the corner table in the back was Calvin talking to a blonde girl that looked like Speck's sister Grace. As I got closer I saw grace was sitting next to someone. A curly haired boy with darkly tanned skin and the beginning of stubble on his chin.

Grace picked her head up and waved with a smile when she saw me. I returned her smile with one of my own and took a seat next to Calvin.

"Hey dude" he said, slapping an arm around my shoulders.

"Hi, i'm David" said the kid next to Grace, and stuck his hand out. He looked about eighteen, with a trusting face and soft brown eyes that slanted at the ends. It hit me then that this must be the guy that I saw Grace with in the hallway when I caught Speck spying on his sister.

I took his hand and gave a firm grip and nodded my head with the friendliest smile I could muster.

Everyone at the table had a steaming mug of coffee in their hands, and Calvin had a half eaten muffin in front of him. I turned to look for where they got the coffee and food to see a boy sitting behind the counter where the food line usually is. I got up and walked over to him and asked for a muffin, along with a coffee. (I usually didn't drink coffee due to my ADHD, being that coffee is basically rocket fuel for kids like me, But today I felt like I needed it.

I returned at the table and again took my seat next to Calvin and joined their conversation.

"There's no way they aren't" Grace was saying. "She's totally into him, and you can see it in her eyes when she looks at him. It's quite adorable actually" She finished, leaning into David, who caught her with his arm around her.

"No. She just puts up with him, I mean, have you seen them together outside of tournaments and meals?" Calvin replied, half his face stuffed with the rest of his muffin.
