---Nick's POV---

My body felt extremely heavy and terribly weak as my mind clung to awareness. I knew that I was slipping of the edge from time to time but I couldn't allow myself the luxury to rest.

After all, I was awoken by a start because the doors had banged open, only for me to realize that both Fawna and me we chained to the walls and that Lucius had casually strolled in, as it were normal to watch someone dangle from their wrist on your walls.

He hadn't say a think, he just glanced at both me and Fawna with a slowly growing smirk before he had walked towards my mate and traced one of his fingers over her cheek. Lucius had found the growls exploding from my lips nothing but amusing before he had chuckled and left.

Since then, nobody had entered the room, though I heard several voices calling out in the distance. My musings were stopped when Fawna whimpered softly, making me snap my head up.

"Shhh love, its okay. We're going to be just fine." I cooed in an attempt to calm her but she simply shook her head, the silent tears which slid down created sharp bursts of pain in my heart.

"No, its not. He knows Nick. He knows we're mates and he's going to use that against us. H-he had said in the past that if he ever found m-my mate that he-" the tears were now streaming of her face as sobs wrecked through her body.

I reached out for her as far as my chains allowed me to, growling as I couldn't touch her, the skin of our outstretched arms only a breath away. It was maddening and that was probably what Lucius aimed for.

Thankfully, Fawna could feel the warmth emanating from my body and calmed down a bit, though fresh tears slid of her face as she finished her sentence in a whisper.

"He promised me that he would torture you while I could watch and that he'd kill you after he made me his permanently." At that, my growls tore through the room as I fought against the chains, my wolf desperately fighting to push through the haze in my mind so we could shift.

It was useless though as I sagged back down, weakened by the silver in the cuffs. Just as my back relaxed again against the wall, the door opened again to reveal the vampire I loved to kill. He just smirked at the growls echoing through the room before he leisurely sat down a few feet away from us.

"I hope you like your chambers, because you won't be leaving them any time soon." He said with malice in his voice, his eyes burning from the obviously vile thoughts that went through his mind. When they slowly traced to Fawna, I was sure my wolf was going to push past the sedative.

Lucius chortled in mirth before standing back up as he went for Fawna. When I snarled and lunged forwards against the chains, he efficiently spun around and backhanded me so hard I flew back against the wall. Fawna's screams sounded distorted in my ears as I shook my head, trying to focus again.

"Now, now. You don't actually want me to torture you in front of your little vixen, do you? Because I won't hesitate to do so." His voice, which had been sugary sweet was now dripping with blood thirst as he came for me, clutching his fingers in my hair before raising me as far as the chains allowed him to.
