Chapter 12

When Hoodie asked, if I was good with kids, why didn’t it occur to me that he wanted me to help babysit? I mean, I’m okay with children (even though I’ve never actually had to watch over one). Hoodie and I walked up to the most beautiful mansion I’ve ever seen. Of it was large, gold lights shined reflecting off the marble stones in front, there was a multi-colored pathway that lead to the double wooden door with crystal like windows, and the greenest trees I have ever seen in my life a lined perfectly with each other. I stared in amazement as Hoodie took my hand once more and walked to the front. Hoodie knocked on the double doors.

The doors opened to reveal a tall man in a polka dot outfit with a matching top hat. His face resembled a happy drama mask.

“Hoodie!” The man greeted.

“Hello Splendy.” Hoodie said as the man ushered us inside.

“Who’s your adorable friend?” I blushed.

“Katie this is Splendorman. Splendy, this is Katie.” I shyly whispered a hello before Splendy handed me a daisy.

“Pleasure to meet you Katie.” Splendy cheered. He led Hoodie and I to a luxurious couch with an expensive looking coffee table.

“May I interest you lovebirds with tea?” Splendy said. My blush grew more.

“W-we’re not lovebirds.” Hoodie stammered as Splendy walked off into the kitchen. There was an awkward silence between us for a good five minutes then Splendy came back out with a tea set on a silver tray.

“Please help yourselves while I fetch my brother.” With that, Splendorman left. I took a cookie and nibbled on it.

“So Katie,” Hoodie said. I stopped nibbling on the cookie with my lips still on it, and looked at him with a curious expression. “Awwww!”

“W-what?” I asked nervously.

“You look adorable like that. Like a kitten munching on a cookie.” At that remark, I blushed madly. That was when Hoodie came closer and tried to move my hair out of my face. I slowly moved back before he could get a good look at my other eye. Thank god someone caught us before Hoodie had the chance to see my whole face.

“Ahem!” Hoodie and I turned behind us to see a tall man in a dark suit and faceless features. “I assume that you two are not here to share love gestures on my couch.”

“I… we…” Hoodie stammered.

“I’m playing with you Hoodie. And I see you brought a friend to help you.”

“Oh! Um, Katie this is Mr. Slenderman, the Headmaster of our school.” My jaw dropped. “Mr. Slenderman you may already know Miss Katie Mellows.”

“Pleased to finally meet you Miss Mellows.” Mr.Slenderman held out a hand. I held it as we shook then released. As I did, two children ran down the stairs giggling. Mr. Slenderman picked both of them up by his branch like tentacles and set them between and Hoodie.

“Hoodie, you remember Sally and my son Slender Jr?”

“Of course.” Sally was a little girl dressed in a pink shirt and white socks while Slender jr. was in a black shirt and pants with a grayish, white vest. He had black hair and red eyes. He must be Viper’s little brother! The voice exclaimed. Both children said hi to me.

Sally was more of a cheery type and Jr was the shy one.

“Now children,” Slenderman said, “Be good to Miss Katie and Hoodie.” The children nodded as Mr. Slenderman teleported away leaving us in the living room.
