Chapter 16

I opened my eyes slowly to the the light of the sun. It wasn’t too bright but I still squinted my eyes. I snuggled my head into the smooth pillow as it rose and deflated. Wait…. Pillows… don’t… move. I opened my eyes wider to see I was lying down on someone’s chest. No, not just someone, Brian’s chest. I peeked under the blanket to see that we were both naked. Holy shit! I thought. That’s when all the memories of last night came to me. Brian kissing and touching me, it makes me blush. I tried to move away but his arm was around my shoulders. Carefully while trying not to wake him up, I slipped away from him and the bed, since I couldn’t find my jacket I gave up and wore Brian’s sweatshirt. I had to silently tip-toe out of the room and to the kitchen. There, I began to pull the pancake mix out of the top cabinet with a medium sized metal bowl. I fetched the eggs, butter, vanilla extract and water and began to place the ingredients in the metal bowl and mix them.

Making pancakes is somewhat easy for me. I used to watch my mother make them every saturday morning before my older sister and my father woke up. Mama would tell me to stir the batter while she heated up the oven, because I was still a child then mama wouldn’t let me near the stove while she flipped the pancakes. I sighed at the memory of me and my mother cooking in the kitchen. Of course, I do miss my family and I always feel terrible for leaving them in so much pain (they think I’m dead). My thoughts were interrupted when a pair of muscular arms were placed at my sides.

“Hey beautiful.” Brian said before kissing my cheek. I blushed and said ‘good morning’ to him. “So you were the one that stole my jacket.” he chuckled. I turned off the stove and turned around for Brian to kiss me more. He grabbed my ass and squeezed it, as he did so, he smirked pervertedly. I blushed again shyly. Brian lifts me onto the kitchen counter then places his hand under the sweatshirt I’m wearing, he touches my breasts and bites my neck lightly. “You ready for round two?” He whispers.

“Y-yes.” I answered. Let’s just say the pancakes were long forgotten.

The weekend was over and we all had to go back to school. Bummer. I held Hoodie’s hand as we entered the building. Nina jumped literally out of nowhere and hugged me. “Hi Katie!” she greeted excitedly. I hugged her back. “Did you guys hear we’re getting two new students today!” I was taken aback by that.

“Really? Two?” Hoodie asked. Nina nodded.

“One is named Mohawk, supposedly he’s Zalgo’s son. Can you believe it?! The headmaster would actually let a descendant of Zalgo in the school.”

“I heard he betrayed his dad and left the underworld.” Hoodie added. I looked down at my feet, of course Nina didn’t know that I knew Mohawk.

“W-who is the s-second s-student?” I asked.

“Her name is Jessica, she’s supposedly escaped an asylum. Slenderman found her almost dead in the forest in the overworld and brought her here.” I cringed at the name Jessica. I thought of my older sister who would always be so protective of me.

“Katie,” Hoodie’s voice snapped me back into reality. “Are you okay?”

“I’m f-fine.” I said. Nina, Brian and I walked down the hall to see a group of boys in a circle laughing and talking. I just dismissed it as some video they were watching, until I heard a female voice say “Alright let me through you guys”. I froze. My heart began to beat faster than ever as my stomach made thousands of flips repeatedly. My hands grew sweaty, then I began to breathe heavily. I know that voice anywhere, but I didn’t expect to hear it again.

“Katie, Katie what’s wrong?” Hoodie said. Before I could answer, a girl squeezed herself out of the group of boys. There she was, her long, wavy brown hair and pretty blue eyes. The only genes that I could recognize anywhere. She saw me, her eyes began to fill up with tears as her lips quivered.

“K-Katie?”
