Chapter 14

Jeff stopped the bike by a nearly empty creek. I climbed off while struggling to pull the helmet off.

"Did you forget to loosen the straps?" Jeff said. I pouted a little then then unlocked the straps. Jeff took off my helmet. "I'm guessing you've never been on a bike before." I nodded. Jeff set the helmet on the bike. He walked along the creek until he approached something that looked as if lightning just struck it. I followed Jeff as we closed in on it. Jeff turned to me and pulled out his knife.

"Here's how this is going to work," He started, "You just follow my lead, and you might just stay alive." That sounds like a threat. I became nervous with sweat forming on my forehead.

"I...I..." I stuttered.

"Oh Christ's sake Katie! I'm going to train you." Jeff exclaimed. I feel like an idiot.

"O-oh. S-sorry." I lowered my head in embarrassment.

"Just take out your weapon so we can get started."

Jeff and I were riding his bike back to my house as the sun began to set in the horizon. I watched the trees and the bushes speed past us in a green and brown blur. "Holy shit!" Jeff yells. I faced front to see a massive fireball fly at us. Jeff swerved the motorcycle off the path, almost running into a tree. I fell off and rolled away in pain. Get up! The voice shouted. I did as I was told struggling to my feet. I heard Jeff groan.

"Aw, did I hit you too hard?" a familiar feminine voice said. I saw Rubi walk towards us with two other cloaked figures at her sides. Her right hand was on fire which the glow of the flames reflected off her magenta eyes. I wobbled onto a tree trying to get to Jeff who was struggling to get the bike off his leg. Rubi came over to me and grabbed my scarlet hair. I yelped in pain as he began to drag me away.

"J-jeff." I said softly. To my luck I felt something wrap around my waist then pull me up. I freaked out due to my huge fear of heights. I was set on a branch, then I saw Viper attacking Rubi and the cloaked figures. I noticed how she had black tentacles or tendrils sprouting out her back, just like her dad. The cloaked figures collapse to the dirt ground while Viper and Rubi fight each other. I felt a hand touch me.

"Hey." I turned to see Mohawk kneeling beside me. He carries me down the tree and helps Jeff with the motorcycle. Rubi lowered her weapon then disappears leaving Viper frustrated. "That bitch!" Viper shouted. She then held up her katana at Mohawk who raises his hands in surrender.

"N-no!" I placed myself between Mohawk and Viper's katana. "D-don't k-kill h-him."

"Bad move Katie." Jeff said.

"Out of the way red." Viper threatened. I didn't budge.

"H-he's o-on o-our s-side." I explained. Viper just scoffed sarcastically as she pushes me out of the way. I grabbed Viper's wrist pulled the katana away. She looked at me with her menacing red eyes and scowls at me.

"Damn it Katie, do you have a death wish or something?" Jeff said. Dropped the katana onto the ground.

"What is the meaning of this?" I heard another voice behind me say. Headmaster Slenderman walked up to us with Masky, Hoodie, and Toby behind him.

"Apparently, the redhead here is keeping me from killing Zalgo's son." Viper said. Well when she says it like that is sounds bad. Slenderman towers over me, I could tell he was not happy.

"Is this true?" I nodded quickly. I looked over at Mohawk who still had his hands raised. Slenderman orders Toby and Hoodie to take Mohawk to the school. Masky and Viper help Jeff stand up each placing one of his arms around their shoulders as Slenderman escorts me home.

"So you mean to tell me that he betrayed his own father?" Slenderman asked.

"Y-yes s-sir." I answered truthfully. Slenderman sighed.

"How do we know he's not lying?" That's when a lightbulb lit up in my head.

"R-rubi." I said.

"What does Rubi..." Slenderman started but his voice trailed off. "Oh, I see." It was like he read my mind. I saw how Rubi couldn't attack her own brother. Not because it was part of Zalgo's evil plan, but because he was stronger than her. But I do want to know why Mohawk left his dad and sister.

"Well Miss Mellows, since Mohawk had surrendered to us, I will enroll him into the school, on one condition. You are responsible for him. Meaning you will watch him everyday and keep him out of trouble."

"Y-yes s-sir."

"That is all I have to say. You have a good evening Miss Mellows." With that, the headmaster teleported away. I was left alone in my living room. I went upstairs to my room, then straight to the shower. After the shower I changed into my pink nightdress and flopped on my bed.
