Chapter VIII: Forty- Five Minutes Can Do Wonders

I was unconscious when someone had taken me to the hospital. It must be someone from the people who had gathered there because the hospital wasn't that far away.

"Don't concentrate too much on who the person is." Sarah said, closing her mouth as a soft chuckle escaped her lips. Sarah had suggested that we go the Starbucks to grab a coffee. I was still wondering who the person is when Sarah had commented, bringing me out of my trance.

I ordered a Cappuccino and Sarah ordered something which I wasn't quick to catch. When our orders arrived I suggested that we should go back, because I hadn't informed anyone about me going out. They must be worried by now.

While walking to my house, I sensed that someone is following me. I turned to look behind and saw the same person from the park looking at me a few feet away. He was tall and huge. He was wearing a black hoodie and so I couldn't see his face, but he seemed creepy. I turned around again and walked as fast as my legs would take me that by the time I reached my house I was panting!

When I reached my house the atmosphere was completely different. Mama was ordering a maid to clean the house, Zaman had just entered behind me with bags full of flowers and Baba was nowhere to be seen.

Woah! Such a change in just approximately forty five minutes.

Forty five minutes can do wonders, my mind retorted back.

Stupid mind.

The preparation for the 'guests' were in full swing. Everyone in the house was busy in some or the other thing. Well, except me. I could hear my phone ringing in the living room and I quickly went there to see who was calling me. The caller ID showed Farah holding a cat.

"Hell-" I was cut off.

"How dare you not tell me that you are getting married?" Farah said with a a voice so loud that I had to remove the phone from my ears.

How can people be so loud?

"Calm down Farah. It should be me that must be panicked and not you. And I am not getting married. I still have to decide about it. It is just a simple meeting." I said recalling back my conversation with Tubs.

"We are coming there." With this Farah just ended the call.

I walked two steps and phone started ringing again. The caller ID showed Belle.

I just forgot about my project!!!

"Hello." Belle said with a cheerful voice.

"Hello?" I replied back inside thinking what to say.

"I suppose you are fine now. When are you planning to return back to the job?" She said in a polite voice.

"I am just getting out of my house now." I lied.

"Come to my office first." Belle replied and with a 'see you soon', she ended the call.

Belle is cheerful but when it comes to work her mood changes completely. She is the type of person that would taunt you in a way that you won't even realise it. She must have heard from someone that I am perfectly fine and now she wants me to come to her office.

I quickly took out a pair of blue jeans, a black and white top and a white coat paired with a cream hijab. I was ready in record time and took my bag and ran down the steps.
