     Marina

After my grandmother's long battle with dementia she passed away, but the laughter that I shared with her and the smiles she gifted me with will never leave my memory. I will never forget the times when she would write poetry and read it aloud to me. Her writing and love for it motivated me to start myself, and I never got to thank her for that. She left something in her will that kept me from forgetting things myself, her diary.  A piece of my grandmother's heart is etched in the diary that I now hold.

And soon, maybe mine will be too.
