So I dedicated this to EmoUnicorn_ni because of the sweet comment they wrote on the last chapter. I'm sorry if this chapter is shit, but I haven't posted in so long that I figured that this was better than nothing.

Redin's P.O.V.
Once they were in the office Redin couldn't help but notice that Ray looked extremely worried and Red was curious to exactly why Raymond was acting that way, it wasn't like he had really been involved in the fight; he was just the victim. At the end of this only Red and Cody would be the one's to get in any sort of trouble.
"I'll have to call each of you boy's parents and explain what happened today." Mrs. Redes tells the three boys before picking up the phone and dialing in one of their numbers off the computer screen.
Ray's hands clasped together, twisting them around until they were a mix of red and white from the hard pressure. Redin gently reached over to place his hand on the young boy's shoulder in attempt to calm him a bit. Ray jumped at the touch, but gave Red a small half smile before casting his eyes to the floor. It didn't make sense to Redin, the other boy was usually more vocal and to be honest he seemed to not care what others thought, but clearly he was afraid of someone after all.
"Yes, is this Mr. Spears?" Mrs. Redes asked into the receiver and Redin noticed Raymond visibly tense. "Yes, sir I hate to bother you at work, but I was calling to inform you that your son was involved with a fight. Is there any way you could come to the school? Yes, excellent, we'll see you then."
It didn't take the assistant principle long to call the other two parents and soon the office was full with Redin's father Drew, Cody's mother, and a man Redin assumed to be Ray's dad. Mrs. Redes gave the parents a quick run down about the fight and what started it, since the boys had already explained before their parents were contacted. Redin's father looked slightly irritated, but at the same time proud of his son for sticking up for someone. Cody's mother seemed almost livid with her child, it appeared it took all of her strength to keep her composer in front of everyone else; Red knew that later Cody would be getting his ass ripped for beating up a kid. Cody already had enough going against him at this school as it was. Lastly Ray's father was calm, relaxed in his face, almost too laid back and it gave Redin the creeps.
"So what's his punishment?" Ray's father asked and Redin noticed two things, one that his name tag read Bennett and two, Ray appeared to be stressed out of his mind. Redin wanted to comfort him somehow, but something told him that would be a bad idea at the moment.
"Oh no! Raymond won't be disciplined for this." Mrs. Redes cried holding up her hands slightly.
Bennett simply nodded. It seemed like he was trying be polite for everyone else's sake as he spoke, "I'd hate to be rude ma'am, but if everything is under control I need to be heading back to work."
Mrs. Redes appeared to be taken aback by Ray's father's indifference, but she agreed to allowing him to leave. Ray relaxed noticeably after his dad left and Redin felt like he could kind of understand why, but at the same time Red knew that not everything you see is as simple as it may appear.
After that Raymond was allowed to leave the office while Redin, Cody, and their parents had to stay behind to discuss what their punishment will be. Mrs. Redes decided that the two boys would have to stay after for a week and help with cleaning up the classrooms for an hour. Red groaned internally at the thought of having to be around an asshole like Cody for five days. Quickly after finishing in the office Redin snatched up his note to 1st period and high tailed it out of the vice principal's office. He wasn't trying to get away from anyone, he just had an overwhelming curiosity as to why Ray had acted the way he did around his dad. Before Redin could make it to the science hall wall a girl yanked him to a stop by his arm and he realized that it was Ray's sister Rebecca.
She totally shocked Red when she threw her arms about his shoulders in a tight hug as she murmured, "Thank you, thank you so much for helping my brother. I didn't think anyone but me would help him out of a fight in this school, I guess was wrong though. Again thank you so very much Redin."
"Red." He corrected her softly and she gave him a confused look, so he explained further, "I hate being called Redin, but either way you're welcome. It was no big deal really, I just hate seeing people getting hurt just because of who they are."
She nodded, "That's good to hear, well I'll see you around Red."
They said an awkward goodbye before Redin finally made it to his class, but he was surprised to discover that Ray was no where to be seen.
Raymond's P.O.V.
After the small and not to mention embarrassing visit from his father Ray decided that going to chemistry wasn't a very good idea today, so he skipped the period. As he sat in the bathroom in the freshman wing, the one that nobody used unless they wanted to die from smoke inhalation, and thought about how Redin had been acting lately. Ray honestly expected Redin to never have anything to do with him after discovering that he was gay. He guessed that he had just judged the guy to quickly and maybe he didn't mind Ray's orientation at all. Now he felt guilty for what he had said to Redin last night before he left. It was just that most of the time people would turn against Raymond after finding out, so now he almost expected it from them.
What really puzzled Ray the most was why Redin had jumped into the fight, from what he collected from others Redin wasn't the social type and the only reason he talked to Ashlynn was because he had known her since he was five years old. So what made Ray any different from the others? Why did the school's introvert take a small liking to him? Maybe he saw what Ray saw, that they could help each other. Ray sighed deeply, was everything about this place confusing and difficult?
Finally the bell for second period rang and Ray quickly went to his next class when a swarm of students entered the hallways, so he would blend into the crowd easily and no one would notice him or the fact he had been skipping. The rest of the day Ray was a bundle of nerves when he thought about what would be awaiting him at home, a good half an hour of lecturing and disapproving looks from his father.
It would be the same questions all over again, 'Why can't we just have a normal family Raymond? Is it really necessary for you to cause so many problems for all of us?'
Ray tried to cast his bad thoughts aside as he waited for the final bell to ring, even though he'd rather not be at home for once during this whole move. The annoying chime began a few minutes later and Ray slowly removed himself from his seat, but he was surprised to find Becca already waiting outside his classroom for him.
"So I talked to Red." She stated as they headed outside to walk home.
Ray raised an eyebrow at her, "What for?"
She shrugged, "To thank him."
That caught Ray's attention immediately as he whipped his head to look at his sister, "What did he say?"
"He said that it was no problem and that he just hates people being treated badly for something that makes them who they are."
Ray nodded thoughtfully and stayed quiet after that.
Bec decided to be the one to break that silence by saying, "I think he might like you Ray, you know as a friend."
Even if it wasn't a crush wise liking, it was still pretty mind bottling. The boy that hated everyone liked Ray, at least as a friend. Ray wished that his feelings for the caramel eyed boy was that simple and easy. Hopefully they could end up being actual friends.
If only what they were about to be was that painless.
