~Supernatural~
Castiel Novak stood still as a board as Sam and Dean Winchester raced to the side of the person they had just attempted to exorcise a demon from. The exorcism had been almost completed when the demon escaped, meaning he could be anywhere. But that was the least of their current worries. The little girl the demon had possessed, a little eight year old named Samantha, was in critical condition from the trauma her body had endured during the possession. Sam and Dean knelt to her side and started asking her questions, such as where she felt pain and if she could see. When the little girl seemed okay, Sam decided to carry her out to the Impala. As soon as Sam left, Dean turned to Castiel and the hunter that they had brought along with them, Jason.
"That son of a bitch could be anywhere right now," Jason said, still having yet to put away the colt that he held in his hand.
"I do not think he would come back here after that," Castiel said, bending down to pick up John's journal, which had fallen in the midst of panic.
Dean looked from Castiel to Jason and raised his eyebrows. "Wouldn't I?" His eyes flashing black and Jason raised the colt. Castiel jumped inbetween the colt and Dean.
"Jason, stop!" Castiel started, his heart pumping in his chest. "This is DEAN! He'll get out of it! He'll fight it!"
Sam chose that moment to come running into the room. "What the hell is going on?!?!" He looked from Castiel to Jason and back to Dean, whose eyes were still black. "Oh shit!"
"We have to kill him," Jason started. "He's possessed, he'll kill all of us and then the girl!"
"You shoot Dean and I shoot you," Sam's eyes turned almost as angry and hateful as Dean's were. He rushed over and grabbed Jason by the collar of his shirt. "Dean, please fight this. If you can get control even for a minute we can exorcise it!"
"Oh," Dean, or, the thing inside Dean, said. "Your precious little Dean is scratching and scratching. He's BEGGING me to get out of him."
"SHUT UP!" Castiel shouted, taking a step towards Dean. "Dean, I know you can hear me."
"Back off!" The demon said. "One step more and I WILL kill you all, and Dean right after."
"Dean, you are stronger than this thing. Please. If you don't take control it will kill all of us anyway." Castiel kept coming closer, his heart pounding so loud he could hear it in his ears.
"I SAID BACK OFF!" The Demon pulled the knife out of the waist of Dean's jeans and raised it inches from Castiel's face.
"CAS BACK OFF!!!" Sam cried. "You're going to get yourself killed!"
Castiel closed his eyes for a minute and then reopened them, mustering up every bit of courage he had. "Dean, please, don't let it do this to me."
The demon responded with an evil grin. "Oh, but I'm not doing it. DEAN is."
Castiel ignored the comment. "Dean, please. I know how you feel about me. And I feel the same way. Dean, I love you."
"He can't hear you, you gay bast-" The eyes changed and Dean came through, his every word a fight. "C-Cas?"
"Dean!" Tears filled Castiels eyes as Dean fought to lower the knife. He rushed straight to Dean, who was now kneeling on the ground. "Dean, I love you. I can't lose you. Please don't let this thing take you from me."
Dean struggled towards Cas as Sam started the exorcism. "It hurts." Dean said. "It's fighting so hard."
"Don't let it through, Dean." Cas grabbed Dean's hand. "Just a little bit more."
"You're eyes are blue, Cas," Dean laughed, still clearly fighting to keep down the thing inside him.
"And yours are green."
"It stopped," Dean flashed a confused look up at Cas. "It's gone."
Sam stopped reciting the exorcism and Dean stood up. Castiel looked at Dean and smiled. "I knew you could do it."
"I just have one question for you, Cas," Dean said, almost hesitantly.
"Yeah?"
"Did you mean it?" Dean's eyes met Cas'. "When you said you loved me?"
"Of course I did." Cas took hold of the hand that he wasn't already holding. "How could I not love you?"
Dean smiled, and, not knowing how to respond with words, leaned down and kissed Cas. When it was over, Cas turned to Jason and took a few steps in his direction, allowing room for a surprised Sam to get through and hug his brother before turning again back to Jason. "If you EVER threaten to shoot my brother again, I will kill you." The words were a lot nicer than what was about to come from Castiel.
"I'm sorry, Man." Jason looked around. "You know the job."
"Not with my brother," The hatred in Sam's eyes was still evident. Castiel and Sam stood halfway between Dean and Jason.
"Besides," Castiel said. "He made it out okay. The thing is gone."
In that moment, Dean's voice rose over all of them. "Do you really think so?"
Castiel and Sam spun around, and again Dean's eyes flashed black. They stood in shock for a moment. A moment to long. By the time they turned back to Jason, it was too late.
