Swap dress 1 for dress 4 and then 4 for 1.
Katie's POVWe all sat chatting and laughing in our first period classes until the principal decided to ruin our last day freedom.
"Hello, my lovely students" his voice sounded over the speaker, "as per usual, our end of year dances will take place during second period and recess, our dancers are asked to meet in the gym hall immediately to change and practice, thank you everyone and good luck to our dancers."
"Ugh we've prepared enough!" I whispered to Greg, getting my stuff together and standing up, "as much as I hate to, I'm leaving you."
I dragged myself out the door and to the gym hall, it was complete with a stage up the back, stands for people watching to the side, and a giant basketball court in the middle.
The basketball court was now covered in at least 200 chairs, and the stage was being set up by a group of weird, smart people that knew how everything worked.
I headed to the bathroom and got changed into my first dance dress (A/N the outfits are up the top, comment what your favourite one is.)
Soon after around 80 girls were chatting and laughing backstage, all dressed in cute, vibrant dresses. Our drama/dance/gym/gymnastics teacher, Ms Taylor, called me over to her desk that sat directly beside the stage.
"Ms Higgins, do you want to take a run through with the groups you taught, using the stage before we start" she asked me kindly, I nodded, "what groups did you have or were you in?"
"Freshman 1 (The Crystal Clears), sophomore 2 (Colourful Clowns), junior 1 (A Famous Star), and advanced junior (Dazzle, Sparkle and Shine)" I informed her quickly, smiling sweetly at the end. She told me the stage was all mine and handed me the microphone.
I stood up on one of the tables and started yelling but no one would listen, so I resulted to plan B. I licked my lips and put two fingers between them, blowing fiercely, creating a blood curdling, whistle.
"Ok ladies, listen up" I said calmly, "we have 20 minutes until show time, so that means we only have 15 to practice. You are going to go through your dance once with your teacher or whoever so listen for the name of your group. For example I'm going to take Freshman 1 first but I could always call you by your stage name The Crystal Clears so pay attention. And yes Freshman 1 and Sophomore 2, I will be performing with you because you are both missing a member. Meet at the stage if your groups called."
The first group followed me to the stage and we rehearsed through once, then my second group, then my third and finally my fourth. By the time we had all finished including the other groups, the school could we heard filing in behind the curtain along with any parents or family.
Danielle Bright, the senior dance teacher and I had to do an introduction act. We made it extremely funny and entertaining. I was dressed in the same dance dress, while she was dressed like an old man, complete with grey hair and a walking stick.
"Dance!" I said loudly and dramatically, "either can be done like a majestic swan of a fierce lion!"
"I remember dancing back in the day, good old times, good old times" Danielle mused, moving awkwardly in attempt to mimic an old person dancing.
"Oh my god! Are you hurt? Your arm Is spazzing out! And your legs! Are you having a seizure? Should I call an ambulance?"
"No dear, this is dancing, how we used to do it."
"Dancing? That's practically dying with your nerves still going!"
"It's dancing love."
"Hey everyone is this dancing? No, see they even said no! Anyway, welcome everyone, to the Coast Ridge High School (made up name) end of year dance! Now please welcome our first freshman group, The Crystal Clears!"
The crowd burst into applaud and I ran to my spot just as the curtains opened. The song 'Little Do you Know' started playing and I moved in sync with the beat, loosing myself in the dance. The song finished and I rushed back stage to change into my second outfit.
Luckily I still had time, in which Danielle would introduce the next dancers and those of which are Freshman 2 would perform.
I rushed to put on the soft, blue silk and lace and tie up a thick, brown mess of my hair. By the time I had gotten to the side of the stage they were almost done, my eyes fell on everyone in the audience.
In the stands were parents and other family members, while sitting on chairs that carpeted the court were students and students and students.
I found Mrs Feder and Mr Feder...and the police officers, bus driver, my dad, Mr and Mrs Lamonsoff and Mr and Mrs McKenzie. Since when did they want to all come?
My obvious staring was interrupted by Danielle slapping my arm, trying to get my attention so I would introduce the next dancers.
"And I thought flowers were beautiful, but then I saw freshman dance and wow, just wow. So now we're going to watch as the fabulous sophomores start, please welcome the amazing Time Turners!"I said into the microphone, the girls took there places on the stage while I took mine on the side of the stage.
They finished and Danielle introduced our next group.
"-and please welcome the Colourful Clowns!"
'Dear Future Husband' by Megan Trainor played and we started, jumping and turning, twirling and leaping, it was a fun, happy song. We had smiles on our faces and I kept eye contact with a grinning Greg.
The song finished and I snook behind a cabinet taking off my second dress and replaced it with my third. In just enough time I walked on and pronounced that junior 1 (A Famous Star) to begin.
We danced to 'I want you back' by Victoria Justice, my fluttery, sparkly dress flew everywhere. Once again I changed dresses, now in my favourite my pink, glittery one.
Junior 2 performed then we were up, advanced junior (Dazzle, Sparkle and Shine) dancing to 'hide away' by Daya.
And on the last round of applause we were pronounced finished.
