Present Day (unedited)
My alarm plays "7 Years" softly beside me before climbing in its loudness as I reach over and swipe my screen the wrong way about 4 times to shut it off.
"uuuugggghhhh" I growl as my feet swing over the edge of my bed and hit the plush faux fur rug that stops my feet from hitting the cold hardwood floor early in the morning.
My phones starts vibrating just as I stand up from my bed. I flop back down and reach over to answer it.
"Hello?" I ask groggily just after I hit the green arrow button.
"Wake up Nicole!! We are leaving today aren't we?!" A overly excited Rebecca chirps from the other end of the line.
"Yea... Yep." I reply sarcastically. "You owe me a breakfast anyways, so come meet me in a half hour."
"Aye aye Captain." She replied before hanging up.
I stood up again, a little too quickly because I got the little coloured boxes over my vision which I have to say.. ARE SO ANNOYING.
I sigh as I hold my hands to my head over my eyes, waiting for the dizziness and the colours to disappear.
After they finally fade away completely, I start walking out of my bedroom and down the stairs into the kitchen, but not before my eyes land on the bags and boxes that are stacked by my closet.
I look away as I approach the stairs and pad down them to grab a glass of chocolate milk. I pour the goodness into a glass before gulping it down in a matter of seconds and washing it.
I set it on the drying rack and walk back up the stairs, dreading the longest drive to this new school and the classes that start in just over a week.
"Why couldn't we just leave next week!" I whine to myself in this dead house before I walk into the bathroom and turn on the shower.
I strip and hop in the shower, letting the warm water slip over my skin, trying to let the worry and sleep fall into the drain with it.
I hum as I wash my hair and body with this Mango scented shampoo and soap. The water goes cold too soon, signalling me to turn it off and open the shower curtain.
"I'm half way there... WOAHHHH! LIVING ON A PRAYER!" I yell loudly, belting out random lyrics from different songs, ending with Living on a Prayer.
I wrap the fluffy towel that lay on the toilet seat around my body, and wrapping my long hair into a smaller and fluffier towel.
"Drinking white wine-" I start singing to Panic at the Disco's LA Devotee when I open my eyes to a sight I wouldn't ever believe.
"JESUS CHRIST!" I scream as I see the back of my best friend leaning over the counter, playing with the rim of a glass.
My scream caught my intruder/best friend off guard. Causing him to spin around and knocking down the glass in the process.
He cursed as he bent down to clean up the broken glass before I knocked his hand away with mine.
"Didn't your mum ever tell you not to pick up glass with your fingers?" I scold before grabbing a broom, dustpan and a pair of protective gloves from the closet.
I saw him smirk and replied "Nah. But nice towel hun."
I scowled at him before stomping up the stairs to my bedroom, before yelling down to him, " YOU SICK PERVERT!"
I heard his laughing through my dark hardwood door as I close it.
Zach, my best friend, can be a stick in the mud and perverted face but he is actually really nice when you finally get to know him and get on his good side.
