We walk downstairs to see the boys and Bella huddled by the door, stiff.
"Bella? Who is at the door?" Liz asks in her motherly voice.
None of them move or respond. We walk up and look for ourselves.
"Hello Cullens." Jane says. I instinctively step in front of Liz and grab her hand, pulling her closer to my back.
"Jane. Lovely to see you." I say stepping in front of my children.
"You as well, Carlisle." she says. She doesn't look as hostile as I thought she would. In fact, she looks a little confused.
I smile at her reassuringly and she returns it.
"Carlisle I can't read her mind." Edward tells me. I nod in his direction.
"Jane, dear, would you mind if I had a word with you in private?" Liz asks. Emmett, Jasper, Edward, and I all hiss at her idea. I can't let my Liz go alone with a member of the guard.
"Of course Esme." she says. Liz steps in front of everyone and I grab her, pulling her back.
"Love, I'll be alright." she tells me. I keep my hand wrapped around her wrist.
"Let her go. She'll be fine." Ashley says.
"Did you see it?" Jasper asks. Ashley nods.
"I'll go with." Nikki says stepping forward.
I slowly releases her arm. Jane, Nikki and Liz all sprint into the woods and keep running until we are unable to hear them.
Elizabeth's POV
"So..." Jane says, unsure how to start.
"I think I know why you're here." I tell her.
"You do?" she asks, surprised.
"Yeah Dakota. I do." She smiles as I say her name.
"So you can tell me what is going on?" she asks. I nod. I tell her everything, starting from when I came here, leaving out some minor details such as my experience with Carlisle when I first came here.
"So it's just us five?" I nod.
"But I bet others will have arrived by the time we get back." Ashley says.
"Well I wouldn't bet against you." I say jokingly. We all laugh and rise from our spots in the dirt.
"Race you girls home." I tell them.
"Oh it's on old lady." Nikki says. I sprint in the direction of our home and arrive before any of the other girls. The boys are sitting on the back deck, looking at me with amused expressions.
I turn to see the three other girls arriving.
"I may be old but my body is still young." I tell them.
"It sure is." Peter says.
"Gross Carlisle." Jasper says. We all chuckle. I see Peter motion to me that we need to talk.
I smile at him and say, "Carlisle, love, would you help me with dinner? The pack is coming over tonight for a bonfire."
"Yes darling. Boys, start gathering wood for the fire. Girls, help your mother by cleaning the rest of the house." I hear groans from each child as they begin to head toward their duties.
"Wait." Edward says. We all stop and look at him. "What is that thing still doing here?" he asks, referring to Dakota.
"Well, I invited her to stay with us." I tell him. He looks at me like I've grown two heads.
"And you will treat her like you would any of your other siblings. Got it?" I ask sternly. He nods and disappears into the trees.
I walk into the kitchen and I see Carlisle leaning against the sink, washing dishes. I stand next to him and begin to dry them and put them up.
"What did you want to tell me?" I whisper. He shakes his head.
"The kids can hear. I'm trying to think of a way to get them out of the house so we can talk."
I stay silent so that he can think. I wonder what it is he wants to talk about.
We finish with the dishes and Ashley walks in. She walks up to Carlisle and whispers, "I had a vision. I know what you can do."
He leans toward her and she whispers into his ear. He chuckles and shakes his head.
"And it'll work?" he asks.
"I had a vision about it." He nods.
"How do your visions work? Like can you see everyone's future?" I ask curiously.
"I can only see what happens to the five of us." she says. I nod and she walks away.
"What did she say?" I ask Peter. He looks down, embarrassed.
"Well I'll tell you. But with this plan, I don't think we are going to have time to make dinner." he says.
"That's okay. We can just order some pizzas."
He nods and looks down again. He leans toward me to whisper into me ear.
"Well, to get the kids out of the house, we have to....have fake sex." he says. I look at him with surprise.
"You know like how they do it in the movies. Make the noises. Shake the bed. That sorta thing." he says nervously. I giggle at his uncomfortable expression.
"Sure I'll do it. Let's go." I say, heading out of the kitchen. I step into the living room and see Jasper and Edward sitting on the couch. I turn back and push Peter back into the kitchen. He looks at me with a confused expression.
"Edward and Jasper are out there." I say.
"So?"
"So we have to be convincing."
"Uh...what?" he asks, still confused. I sigh.
"To put it bluntly, we have to act the part. Of sexually aroused adults. About to have sex."
His eyes widen as he realizes what I mean. He slowly nods.
I reach up to his head and mess up his perfect hair. I undo a couple buttons on his shirt and untuck it. He pulls my dress a little higher up my thighs and unzips part of my dress.
I smile and grab his hand. We tiptoe through the door and start to make our way up the stairs.
"Gross." I hear Edward mutter as he sees us.
We reach the bedroom and Peter closes the door behind him.
