Third person P.O.V

The search for Mia continued, but her whereabouts were still unknown, and the trail for clues had run cold. Her family and friends were starting to trust her words and lose faith in themselves. Her mother's strong spirit grew weaker and weaker, for the loss of her youngest child was a bigger toll than anyone could imagine. Her father grew more tired from the lack of sleep, and his fiancé was the only voice of reason he could hear. Jake was overwhelmed with emotions, and even though everything seemed blurry, he took over Mia's absent intelligence in anyway he could, which meant dropping the drugs. Rose kept faith in Mia and hoped that she would return. She would wait as long as she had to for her friend.

In that passing week, Mia had taken shelter underneath an abandoned bridge, and used her spare clothes as a temporary bed. As for food, she often found herself at the back of supermarkets, jumping into delivery trucks for any food she could get, and she drank water from drinking fountains in nearby parks.

Mia's P.O.V

I was on my way back to my shelter. I had just taken a crate of strawberries from a delivery truck. I know, I know that it might be stealing, but every human has the right to eat. Anyway, I was heading down the rocks to the underneath of the bridge when my foot caught on a rock and I fell a good meter and a half.

I was frozen for a few minutes while my mind registered what had happened and took in my surroundings. The strawberry packets had been strewn across the ground with two open and numerous strawberries littered across the ground. I felt blood starting to seep through the sleeve on my right arm and on my left knee, my hands stung and dirt had filled my eyes and lungs. Soon, I started a coughing fit.

Somewhere on my right I heard footsteps coming across the bridge. It was still around the middle of the day and I was completely bathed in sunlight. If I didn't move they would see me for sure. I didn't trust my legs to work at the moment. I had very weak ankles, and the pain from my left knee was still bleeding and hurt. Hopefully they wouldn't notice the trail of blood.

I used my left forearm to drag my body forward and then propped my right knee up and pushed off of it and brought my injured arm close to my chest as I rolled over into the side of the bridge and slipped around the corner.

Luckily I was just in time as the two people crossed over the bridge.

" Archer Sto-o-o-p you're gonna make me fall over, "

" Then I'll catch you, don't even worry about it, I've got you,"

The seemingly happy couples voices faded in a matter of seconds. I then sprung into action, I had to attend to my wounds. The water from my bottle would have to do for cleaning my wounds. The blood coming out of my wounds had slowly reduced, thankfully. I ripped up my black jacket and then ripped up three small pieces. I emptied most of my bottle on to one piece of cloth and started dabbing them. After that I wrapped them up tightly with some bandages I had packed in the small first aid kit I had, and went to clean up the mess I had made. How that couple missed me, I will never know.

I managed to salvage most of the strawberry packets, but some I had to throw away into a nearby bin, the rest I put close to my makeshift bed. The blood that had stained the dirt was still there, but I just used more dirt to put over the top, I wasn't going to waste any more water.

By the end of my clean up, the sun had already started to set. You hear so many people talk about electrifying sunsets, and how they take your breath away, but I was never fascinated by them. I just saw them as something that happens everyday. I don't get what all the fuss is about.

I was very tried and the lack of blood made me feel slightly dizzy, so I decided to go to bed for the day. Hopefully a good night's rest would help me.
