Dogs?

When you finally arrive at Thornmoore Cafè, the three of you sit at a table outside. This cafè is the only pet-friendly cafè for about four miles. "You want a drink or anything?" You look at Jacob realising hes talking to Nala. She hums for a while before answering, "Could you get me some food?" You laugh. "Wow Nala, youd think you never get fed." The three of you laugh as Jacob goes in to get some food for Nala. He pops his head around the door, "Anything for my 5-year crush?" and gives a light chuckle. "Just a coke please." and you laugh as he enters.

Then it hits you. 5 years. Thats what he said. 5-year crush. Wow, seriously?
You look over to Nala who is stretched across the floor.

"Comfortable are we?
"Dreaming about loverboy are we?"
"Asking for more food are we?"
"Changing the subject are we?
"Stealing my ending are we?"
"Trying to be funny are we?"
"Jealous are we?"
"Saying 'are we' at the end of each sentence doesnt make it offensive."
"Aww trying to win are we?"

"Win what?" Its a voice that you wish you never heard. Its Nathan. "Huh? Nothing." At that moment Jacob comes out carrying a packet of cat treats and a big glass of coke. You give him a funny look thinking "when i asked for coke i didnt mean that much." But then you realise it has two straws. You cant help but smile.

"Hey dude." Jacob is smiling like the Cheshire Cat at this moment.
"What you so happy about?"
"Oh nothing."
"Hold on i know whats going on here! Your on a date! Ok ill leave you two to it."
You but in, "No its not a date." But Nathans already walked off.

You hear Nalas voice and a deep mans voice. You turn to see her talking to a dog. A Dog! Not just any dog, but the dog belonging to Ben! The school hotty, captain of the football team and all round dreamboy of Newbrook.

You see Jacob has noticed the cat-and-dog conversation and you sit listening. They are talking about you. You turn round to look at them and you dont see her. Then you notice her lying across Ben's lap and hes stroking her back.

You try talking to Ben which you never thought youd do.
"Erm..Ben?" He turns round to look at you, his sky-blue eyes meeting your neon-green ones. He looks slightly startled when he looks at you. "Wow, your eyes are so bright!" You look down and blush deeply. Thats not how you were expecting the conversation to go. " Haha...Could I have my cat back please?" He looks down to his lap, noticing her neon green color. He picks Nala up and holds her out to you."Her color matches you eyes, its cute." You take her from his hands, your hand slightly brushing against his, and smile as you turn back round to Jacob who has a grumpy look on his face.

You put Nala on the table and Jacob starts handing her a few treats. You watch him intently when the chair next to you is pulled back and someone sits down. Its Ben!
