EARTH-13 VOLUME-2
OBITUARY
As the coffin carrying Peter Parker was brought to its final resting place, it attracted thousands upon thousands of grieving New Yorkers, who followed it to the Church, where, the final words would be spoken, and Peter Parker's body would be lowered into the earth. They followed the coffin, held by Peter's closest friends, Mary Jane Watson, Harry Osborn and Gwen Stacey, along with his Aunt and Uncle, May and Ben Parker.
The usual hustle and bustle of the morning rush-hour was nowhere to be heard or seen. The Big Apple had gone silent in respect to the hero that had saved it. In respect to the hero who had given his life to protect its citizens, despite all the negativity, harsh comments and hate that they piled upon him.
The New Yorkers who followed the coffin were truly humbled. Among them were several people. Some who owed their lives and property to the fallen hero, others, who believed, and do continue to believe that Spider-Man is a hero, and many former critics of the web-swinger, who were deeply moved by his acts of selflessness and sheer bravery in defending the city on his own, despite the insurmountable odds.
Traffic had been halted and workplaces closed for the day. People either stayed in their houses, eyes glued to the TV screen with a live feed of the fallen hero's funeral, or there at the funeral procession itself.
However, as comes with any hero, there were still others. Others who refused to believe that Peter Parker, Spider-Man was a hero. Who believed that he was a no good villain! After all, the mayor himself had to have issued an arrest warrant for Spider-Man for a reason! And one only issues arrest warrants when the person in question is a criminal!
These people were made up mostly of reporters who were covering the live feed. They had many questions to run through and not enough time.
One of these reporters, was Norah Winters, a handsome young woman of 24, with a Caucasian skin tone, blue eyes and shoulder-length blonde hair pinned back with black and pink colored pins. She had just secured a job in the Daily Globe's TV and Media division, and she was determined not to let her employers down.
With the Camera#1 filming an overhead, she would wait until the "Entry Of the coffin" to actual get in a cameraman into the crowd and begin her questions. A media session had been specifically squeezed in so that Peter's loved ones, as well as any supers who decided to show up, could have a few final words before the funeral commenced.
Norah straightened her stiff brown shirtwaist and smoothed out her black shirt. She gave a quick glance to her black pants and shoes to make sure they were still presentable, then looked forward as the procession neared its end.
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies, says the Lord (John 11:25)" a priest spoke in front of the masses of people present to mourn the death of Peter Parker. The procession had stopped at the Church, where a large platform had been constructed outside, for the media session and final words. The Coffin would then be moved into the Church for the rest of the Funeral Rights and then be buried in the cemetery that surrounded it.
The Priest continued, "We are gathered here today to mourn the loss of a true hero. He was not just a loving child, a kind nephew, but also a savior of the people, and of this city as a whole.
Mr. Peter Richard Parker lived a life full of trials and tribulations, yet it never pulled him down. He always managed to overcome all obstacles, and crush any challenge that came before him. He died saving our city and its citizens. His bravery will never be forgotten."
