Nimbus' Destined

Battle

The princes stood behind the gates, staring out as Lazla and her troops came near the walls.
Shadow ran a hand over the armor he was wearing, then looked at his brothers. It was odd to see any of them in armor, but Venice especially seemed to be swallowed by it.

He worried for the youngest prince. How would he be of any help in battle other than a diversion?

An energy dome protruding from the wall and covering the city glistened in the morning sun.

"You guys ready for this...?" Sonic asked. "It's us against five hundred soldiers and one very bad witch."

"As ready as I can be..." Silver answered.

Venice's eyes narrowed, "Bring it..."

Shadow nodded, then reached for the gun in his holster. "We end this fight today, brothers...Let's make mother proud of us."

"She'll be proud of us either way..." Silver mumbled, getting glares from his brothers. "...but yeah, let's make her proud!"

Shadow took a deep breath, then they stepped out, into the danger of outside Sinseria's walls.
"Lazainiar, your reign of terror ends today!"

Lazla was nearly identical to Quetzal, only appearing slightly older, and her eyes showing nothing but evil.
She cackled, holding a scepter in one hand. "Oh, your poor foolish boys..." She sneered. "Trying to fulfil the so-called prophecy without the fifth ingredient...!"

"What are you talking about...!?" Shadow hissed.

"Oh dear. Did your mother not tell you that part? The prophecy spoke of five members. You boys, and a Tarenelian." She smirked. "That's why I used my magic to wipe that kingdom clean off the continent!"

"The 'Unclaimed Territory...!'" Silver growled.

"So you see, you'll fail to stop me without-"
She was cut off by a violent shaking of the ground, and Shadow turned to see Amanda walking towards them, also in armor. Her wings were outstretched, and her hands glowing.
"What is...YOU!"

"You missed one Tarenelian, Lazainiar. You took my family and people away from me!" Amanda demanded.

Lazla's rage faded with a smirk. "Princess Amanda of Tarenel...the freaks to rule all freaks."

"She is not a freak!" Venice barked.

"So it looks like all five are assembled, Lazla." Shadow replied. "Still wanna be so cocky?"

Lazla growled, then pointed her scepter. "Kill them all!"

Shadow's first reaction was to use Chaos energy, but he decided against it, instead increasing his size until he was towering over the others.

Sonic vanished from view, though his trail was seen by soldiers falling into the crowd. Possibly being trampled by others coming at him, Shadow didn't know.

Silver morphed into diamond and dashed forward, his body glistening as he punched, kicked and threw soldiers around.

Amanda was guarding Venice, which comforted Shadow as his footsteps disoriented the soldiers.

He dodged out of the way as Lazla fired at him, then glared. "For Nimbus!" He shouted.

"So you're a princess!?" Venice asked as he kicked a soldier's gun out of his hand and took it for himself. "That's new news."

"It wasn't that important, Venice." Amanda admitted, throwing rocks at their attackers. "Hopefully when she's defeated, my home will come back."

Venice switched the gun to stun, then fired at the soldiers with extreme accuracy. "Have at thee, creeps!"

"I see you're good with firearms!"

"Video game arcades back home." Suddenly a shadow passed over them, and Venice stared as Amy, Rouge and Quetzal arrived. "What are you-"

"Prophecy never said you can't have backup!" Amy announced. "You boys deal with Lazla, we've got these idiots."

"You sure?"

Quetzal pulled out a gun of her own. "Positive, Venice. Go. More backup is on the way."

Venice nodded, then ran towards the battle. He wasn't sure how he'd help, but then he remembered his mother's story from earlier. Guys, I'm doing the Olgilvie Maneuver.

The what!? Sonic asked.

Venice ran towards Lazla, then snatched her scepter from her. "Hi sorry need this!" He shouted, then vanished into the crowd.

Lazla's enraged scream echoed, but Venice kept running.
Then he noticed the seven colored rings inside the top of the scepter. They glowed with energy, swirling around rapidly.
"Those shouldn't be there." He decided, then slammed the scepter on the ground hard. Light spilled out of the scepter as it shattered, then the rings shot out of the orb and into Venice. "AAAAAAH!!!"

"Venice!" Shadow shouted.

Venice winced as heat washed over his body, but also power he'd never experienced before. He knew what kind of fae he was now.
He lifted up off the ground, his eyes glowing white and his fur a deep red. Rings were around his wrists and ankles, plus one around his neck and one around each quill. "Oh yeah! This is awesome...!"

"Venice, you did it!" Silver shouted.

Venice grinned, then flew down and his fist made contact with Lazla's cheek. "Normally I wouldn't hurt a lady, but you're not a lady, are you?"

The ground lifted up beneath them, separating the princes and Lazla from the rest of the battle below. "You locked away the World Rings because you knew your daughter would be able to use them, and when she rebelled, you couldn't have her gain an advantage!"

"You foolish child!"

Lazla fired energy at Venice, but he dodged it, planting more hits at her. "I'm not doing this for my reputation, I'm doing it for every person you've ever hurt! My mother! Amanda! Tarenel! Nimbus! EVERYONE!"

Lazla fell onto the ground, panting for breath but still defiant. "You can't win...! I'll make SURE OF IT!!!"

A blast of energy came at the princes, and Venice winced, ready for searing pain, but it never came.
He opened his eyes to see someone had caught the energy in his hands, though struggling to keep it there. "Mephiles!"

"M-My sister...!" Mephiles whimpered, tears in his eyes. "You took my sister from me...And if stopping you means avenging her, then...I'm all for it...!"
He then threw the energy on the ground, and the hedgehogs yelped as it exploded in all directions...
