( Raeygen: )

When I see Blynken and his friend Jay with mystery girl, and that he was actually talking to her, I assume the worst, and end up ignoring him for almost three days.

Unfortunately, when he begs on his knees dramatically and I grudgingly forgive him, he brakes it to me that I missed her giving me a completely "love struck" look.

Does she actually like me?

"...And, I know her name!"

My head turns faster than a top. "You got her name?" I know, same class and all, but the teacher has everyone sign in as they walk out, and doesn't pick people to answer questions unless they're comfortable with it.

I don't know too much about Mystery girl, but I do knows she's beautiful and very quiet. Maybe even shy, but quiet doesn't always mean shy.

"Yes, but you were too busy ignoring me that I couldn't tell you. And now it's Friday and a day two, so you don't even have math with the girl who makes you gameless."

I smack him on the arm, "I did not lose my game!"

"Yeah, sure you didn't!" He laughs hard.

I'll show him!

I storm across the hall to a group of girls, one of which was a "special friend".

She excuses herself from her group immediately, taking my hand and leading me towards the bathroom. Thank god the bathroom is empty, because the way she slams me into the back of the door is almost deafening in echo.

We furiously make out like there's no tomorrow, and I'm uneasy, which is so weird. Ashlin is very attractive.

I try to push it away, but Ashlin slows until she's just staring into my conflicted eyes.

I jump when she sighs. "Oh sweetheart, what are you doing here?"

"W-what?"

She gives me a look that says I'm transparent. "Sweetie, we both know what this is, and I've known you forever."

Confused on where this line of words was going, I look at her not understanding.

She laughs, "Rae, you're as see- through as a window. You've been MIA on own little trysts for months now. You haven't been with anyone for so long girls are actually considering to ask you out, thinking you're ready to settle for a while with just one girl..."

This is news to me. Have I been out of game entirely?? Obviously if all this is true. And knowing Ashlin, it is. I open my mouth but she continues before I can think of anything to say.

"You're not a player anymore, Raeygen. Don't get me wrong, Player- Raeygen was great, and she and I had some fun, but she's not you anymore. This new more mature Raeygen, you've become a close friend. And," Her eyes sparkle mischievously, "I know something that they don't! None of them stand a chance at wooing you now, and neither do I!"

My eyes widen, does she know? "You know?" I squeak, unable to turn my incessant need to know everything I can. Especially when it involves me.

She laughs, "That you want someone as more than a hook up? Everyone knows, or at least suspects that. That you like someone, a specific one? Yes, I saw the signs and didn't dilute my mind with false ideas of what won't happen."

I think I should be offended, but I'm not sure what she means.

"Dilute you mind with false ideas? First off, what's that mean? And second, who talks like that?!"

She hits my arm, obviously offended, "I do, duh. Besides I meant I know you have someone already. Or at least, you have a someone in mind-"

"I don't-"

"-Yet, maybe not yet, but it's definitely a 'yet' ending to that sentence-"

"-And how do you know that there might, maybe, possibly be someone?" Can she just satisfy my curiosity sometime soon? I take a peek at my watch. Math is in less than five minutes. I just love math class. It's so informative.

Ash rolls her perfectly mascaraed blue- gray eyes. "Because you've changed, Rae. Mayne you didn't realize it, but you've been preparing yourself for months by distancing yourself from being a player. Whoever it is, they have to be something special for you to stop fooling around and be serious for..."

Wow. It's all there. Almost every answer to the questions I've been asking lately. The answers I knew I knew but just kept escaping my grasp.

I have changed. And I do really, really want to impress- wait, Blynk never told me her name!

"You're right," I sigh.

She looks surprised.

"What?" I ask, confused.

"I totally figured you'd disagree with me. You always use to." She looks at me, thinking hard. "Maybe you've changed more than I think you have."

"I hope that's a good thing," I mutter.

She nods, as if trying to reassure me. "Anyway, now that we're friends, this is now girl talk. What's her name?"

My mouth dries. I've never had 'girl talk' with anyone but Mom. And haven't had any personal girls that were friends. I open my mouth, but the bell rings.

Her eyes narrow. "This isn't over." She chuckles, shaking her head, "Saved by the bell, what a cliché!"

I take off immediately. I have a lot to think about after English today. I know it will be after because English class has thoughts in it that preoccupied me always. English is in a special classroom with big windows in the library. Preoccupied thoughts lead though other side of the glass, where someone sits during her Free period before school ends, reading a book.

( Unknown: )

I take my normal seat in the small corner of the café I frequent. Its almost always busy as heck, but at two thirty am, it's empty save the night shift worker and I.

I have class at noon, I should be sleeping but I'm not. I haven't been sleeping well without medication for over six months now.

Best make the most of this, and study.

What else would I do?

School and focusing on becoming the best physical therapist I can be.

The girl at the counter looks up at me with a raised brow. Her name is Audrey and works here to support her young daughter. Her husband watches the little girl at night, when Audrey has college and work, while she watches the girl during the day while he does the same.

I nod. I'm her only customer. Usually it's just after three, it's deserted, except for party- ending times, like midnight.

She stretches her legs before sauntering over with a pitcher of cold, non- iced soda. "Hey you," she looks at my textbooks, "Studying? Can't sleep again?"

I nod, "It's an anniversary. Two years ago something I once thought was important happened, and I- now... I don't think it's all that important anymore."

It's cryptic, but Aubrey doesn't pry. "I'm always here," she answers per usual. She walks off, "I'll get your special, I premade it earlier when I was bored, thinking you'd come in."

I mutter a thanks, and open my textbook.
