tiptoeing, i burst out the door. running, running to where i knew i'll feel safe.
i wrapped my arms around myself, in only a tank top in twenty-degree weather as i shivered from the cold and haunting dreams, more like haunting reality.
i didn't know where i was going, i just kept walking and walking and walking. the lights were scarce and the stars were twinkling.
i made it to the small café that was only a couple minutes from my house. goosebumps were covering my skin as i entered the very cozy place. it was around one o'clock, but this was one of the places open 24/7.
i was the only one here. it was dead silent, something that made my hair stand on end and my nerves tingle.
i waltzed up to the counter, fishing out a couple dollars from my pocket. i ordered a hot chocolate and settled on the two-seater table.
"maddy?"
