~Heyo, everyone! The last chapter was probably the laziest thing I've ever done, so I plan on trying to actually be kinda(?) serious in this! 3:~

A few days after our conversation, everything was the same. Everything returned to normal.. I didn't feel the same agony that I had the nights before. I still crawled out of my bed, over-exaggeratedly huffing as Kokoro had already left the room. It was a Saturday, so I didn't see why I even bothered waking up.

As I finished getting dressed and exiting our dorm, I almost immediately ran into Shin. He had a displeased look on his face, like always. It made me smile to know he still had some emotions buried deep inside him.

"Morning, Shin!~ Surprise to see you up and about this early in the morning," I commented, attempting to start a conversation.

He scoffed. "I could say the same about you. Where's it anyways?"

'It'? What was that supposed to mean? "Kokoro? She left awhile ago. She reminds me a lot of Sei..." He cut me off.

"Don't say it! Don't even dare! I won't even hesitate to break you if you even think about comparing her to that human!" He snapped, revealing how hard he was trying to hold back his anger. "They're nothing alike.. Not in the slightest."

"Fufufufufu.." I giggled deviously, involuntarily covering my mouth. "Why hold so much interest, then?"

He choked. "I don't.. Though, I've noticed something..."

"Eh?"

Shin quickly looked away from me, never finishing his sentence. I could tell he was hiding something from me. "Just know, if whatsitsface ever tries coming near me, I will do so much as kill her."

Mika huffed, shooting bone-shaking glares my way. "Why am I always the go-to person whenever you don't know something? I have more purpose than that."

Clapping my hands together, I smiled pleadingly. "Please, Mika-Chan? Just this once?"

"Once!? This isn't the first time, Natsumi! I'm always the person you run to whenever you're feeling nosy! Besides," she huffed, leaning back against the wall of her room, "even if I did know when Kai would be back, I wouldn't be able to tell you anything. My ears only hear so much."

"Kai?" Kokoro questioned, her dumbfounded expression as obvious as ever. "Who's that?"

Mika smiled. "Kai's a genius. He just recently enrolled into this school, like you, but he's already made a name for himself. He has this weird ability that allows him to read the thoughts of others. Weird guy."

"He's uber smart!" I added, puffing out my cheeks. "Like, UBER smart! He's been gone for awhile now, but he usually does business with the students here! He's like a super Shin!"

Kokoro sighed, thanking Mika for her service before effortlessly dragging me out of the room. I was a vampire, but yet she was still stronger than me physically. How frustrating.

"Why do you even need to see this person anyways, Natsumi?" She asked, continuing to drag me down the hall.

"No reason~ I'm just a nosy lil' bat~" I lied.

She smiled, her expression changing immediately after. "Oh, before I forget. I'm visiting home tomorrow, so I won't be here when you wake up. Try not to get into trouble, will you?"

"Eh!? I take offense to that! I'm never in trouble!"

On our walk throughout the academy, we eventually ran into Shin, who was passing by our dorm again. What a creeper.

"Oiya, Shin!" I exclaimed, eagerly waving in his direction. If I could just make his misery disappear..

Shin groaned, walking around us. It appeared that after our conversation this morning, he really didn't want to have anything to do with us. I could barely remember a time he wasn't so grim- when you couldn't literally feel the negative storm hanging over his head. He forced himself into becoming like that. He couldn't learn to move on...

"You should make an effort to hang out with him more," Kokoro interrupted. "Losing a loved one is hard, I could only imagine, and you understand because you were there. He didn't find an inspiration to move on like you did." She glance back, only to grin at me. I felt like she was mocking me, but I knew she was right. However, approaching Shin took more than effort.. it took inspiration.

~I don't want to go too far since this is Natsumi's last chapter, and I have lots of plans for next chapter that I want to save because it's meant to return the happiness to the story ^-^'> It'll be out sometime this week, though, so expect to see that soon. Until then! ^u^/~
