~Fufufufufufu... 3; I'm going to enjoy this chapter quite a bit. I hope you all enjoy it too! Kinda made this chapter just to lift the tension, so I love how relaxing it's gonna be!~
I felt bad for lying to Natsumi, but what else was I supposed to do? If she knew who I was hanging around, she would probably freak. I can't hide it forever, but I rather face the consequences later on in life. I have a friend. That's not something I would ever want to lose.
I sighed, closing the door to our dorm as she snored the morning away, acting as carefree as ever. When I exited the room, he was already there. He flashed me one of his perfect smiles, his icy orbs as alluring as ever. "Ready to go?"
For the past days, Kill and I had been meeting up for coffee. After Natsumi's confession, I felt like I just needed a break, but when I had arrived at the nearby cafe in town, I ran into Kill. Ever since then, we would meet before classes started, and go share a cup together. It was really.. stress relieving. And now here we were, leaving the shadows of the academy and entering the heart-warming light of the outer world... on a date.
"You didn't have to say yes, you know. I wouldn't have been heartbroken or anything," he told me, starting a conversation. "If you really don't want to be here, you can still turn back."
I glanced at him, baffled. That wasn't the ideal thing to say to a girl HE asked out. "If you don't want me around, just say so," I teased, entwining my fingers with his. My heart fluttered at the contact. "Besides, I would still be walking into town with you no matter what had happened. It's kind of become a routine for me."
Kill stared down at our hands, his cheeks becoming painted a bright pink. His expression made me smile as we entered the little cafe, taking our seat in a booth farthest away from the door.
As we waited to be given our usual, Kill stared at me and huffed. He almost seemed disappointed before a creepy smile crawled onto his face. Had I not known him, I'd probably leave the cafe. He looked like a total creep; a stalker even.
Breaking the silence, he spoke in a voice where every word he spewed out played a song of its own. "You're a pretty lousy hunter. Maybe you should do something else?"
"What do you know? You haven't even seen me fight before!"
"Yeah, but have you ever even fought a witch before? They're crazy strong, and not only that, but you go to a school with literal monstrous beings. Your gun won't do anything for you," he retorted.
Flustered, I glanced down at my lap. I had been backed into a corner. "No, I haven't.. and I guess you're right about my weapon too.. but I want.."
"To prove everyone that you're actually useful, right? Yeah, I know what that's like. I could always teach you a few things."
I scoffed in response, watching as the waitress gave us our drinks. Who did he think he was? Kill didn't look much stronger than I did, and what else would I do if not hunt witches? Sure, a sniper didn't promise much, but I could always get something else.
"What? It may not look like it, but I'm really strong! I know a few things when it comes to strategic battle style!" He pouted, puffing his cheeks out to look like a chipmunk.
Rolling my eyes, I nodded, causing Kill to smile out of happiness. It wouldn't be ideal, I could already tell, but he managed to change my thoughts on men. It was the least I could do in return.
After finishing our coffee and talking the rest of the morning away, we left and took a tour around the town. It wasn't much, but it was just enough to keep a smile on our faces. Kill seemed lost in thought anyways, so this was a good way not to disturb him.
Grabbing a tight grip of my hand, Kill turned around and began walking at a fast pace. I was basically being dragged as he led us to a new location. "Let's go see a movie," he quickly threw in as his explanation.
"Wah?" I asked. It was the only thing I could get out of my mouth without biting my tongue. He was moving much faster than Natsumi; I could barely keep up. "Slow down! What's the ru.." With my teeth slamming down onto my tongue, puncturing the surface like a needle, I was cut off. The taste of thick, coppery blood swelled within my mouth.
Without realizing it, Kill had stopped walking and my hand had fallen to align with my side. My eyes clenched shut, feeling as a flood of tears laid in wait, wanting to drown my eyes out. The blood wouldn't stop and the pain wouldn't subside. How humiliating.
"Oi, how are you supposed to fight witches if you can't even keep walking after biting your tongue?" He asked, his hand resting on my shoulder, forcing me to move forward. "C'mon, before you make us late.. Spane~"
My eyes shot open. "How did you.."
Cutting me off, he grinned and grabbed my hand, resuming his obnoxious power walk towards the movies. "Let's go see Cannibal Holocaust~!"
"That's not even a movie out in.." I bit my tongue again, Kill laughing as I did. He seemed to have caught on a lot quicker than last time, but that just made him appear even more obnoxious. Talk about development.
~Aaaaaannnd... scene 3; I already have two of the following chapters planned out, so they should also be out soon. Hope you enjoyed! Until the next one! ^u^/~
