Recap:

"Oh, That's right. Koujaku wants to meet you at my house tomorrow. He wants to have a formal meeting, unlike earlier today when we ran away."

"Hahaha..." she laughs sarcastically, "that's right. I'll meet up at your place tomorrow."

"Could we exchange numbers?" I ask.

"Eh?"

"So we could call one another."

"O-Okay."

[Amaya's POV]

After Aoba and I exchanged numbers, we said our goodbyes and left one another. I walk a little farther and see my house, not turning back to see Aoba. I unlock the door. Shadow immediately jumps onto the couch and I sit down, exhausted.

"Amaya, when you were talking about Yukika, your heartbeat was beating faster," Shadow says, "Are you all right?"

"I'm fine," I say stubbornly, "I'm going to wash my face."

I go up the stairs and onto the second floor. I go into my room and see the big window. With the sky turning darker, the sun is barely shining. Going into the bathroom, I tie my hair up and wash my face. As I grab a towel, I look at the mirror. Tears swell up in my eyes. Stubbornly, I wipe them, and take a deep breath.

'Stop crying, you weak crybaby!'

When I go out, I notice Shadow was near the door.

"Eh? Shadow, do you want something?"

"You were crying. Why?"

"Ah... It's nothing."

"It's because of Yukika, right?"

A shock goes through my body.

"Y-Yeah."

I sigh and tell her not to speak about it. I pick her up and sit on my bed. The bed creaks as I sit. I grab Shadow's brush and start brushing her dark fur. I put on my earphones and listen to music, but keep one behind my ear so I could hear Shadow.

Shadow falls asleep in my lap after a few minutes of brushing her fur. I move her softly to the edge of the bed. I decide go out to the balcony. Opening the glass door, a blast of cold air strikes against me. I look around for a couple of minutes.

Come to think about it, the massacre was never solved. I was questioned, but it didn't lead to anywhere. At the moment I heard shots, the first that was shot was...

Me.

I look up to see that the sun was down and that I was able to see the stars. The stars remind me of something.

---Flashback---

Today was my birthday. I turned 13. Yukika was younger than me, so she acted like a younger sister; which I didn't mind. We had spent our day just eating and trying out new food. It was nighttime. Yukika and I normally played by ourselves because our parents was normally busy and couldn't be with us. We had wondered around town until Yukika suddenly wanted me to go somewhere.
