This song is about a boy who grew up in a messed up home.His parents locked him up in a dark room with one tiny window to look out of. He thought there were creature or monster there so the chorus is basically his childhood.He went his whole life not knowing what love is. He kidnapped a girl and raped her.When it says 'their nightmares were his dreams.' Means he got pleasure out of raping her as she was pained by it.The line 'and he stole her.'mean he stole her virginity or her in general.'I am Hannah's regret.'His mothers name was Hannah and her only regret was having him. And in the end he fills a bath with kerosene lights it up (as kerosene is flammable) and kills himself in regret of what he did."there words tattooed in his veins"as he died he was remembering the words his parents would yell out at him and both the girl and the parents calling him a monster.
