Nothing Special, Just Me

Chapter 2

*Beth's POV*

It seemed as though everyone was yelling something different. The popular girls that are obsessed with Zack were screaming at him and me.

"WHY DID YOU DO THAT?"

"OH MY GOD! ZACK ARE YOU OKAY?!"

"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU HURT HIM!"

"I HATE YOU!"

The teachers were screaming too.

"Somebody check on Zack!"

"Everybody just CALM DOWN!"

Also, people were yelling at me. Some were angry. Others, surprised. I didn't blame them. I was just as surprised as they were. I stood there in shock, as everyone stood around screaming.

"HOLY CRAP! You just kicked AND punched ZACK," Faith screamed at me.

I obviously knew that already, but I didn't say anything.

If people weren't running over to Zack, they were running over to ME. I didn't know what to do. I didn't want THIS to happen. I was overwhelmed by everyone crowding around me, so I ran.

I took off. Out the cafeteria, down the hall, and out of the school. I didn't know where to go, but I knew that I needed to get away. From school. From the teachers. From the cafeteria in hysteria. From Zack. From everyone and everything.

I couldn't go home. Then, I would get yelled at. Then, I'd have to explain why I was home early. Then, I'd get a lecture and yelled at again. I decided that I would go to the park. I went and sat on the swings. Slowly, the hours passed. It was 4:00 PM. School got out an hour ago, but I didn't want to go home.....Not yet, anyway. I was still on the same swing as when I got here. My eyes were closed. I was just enjoying the peaceful silence. I heard the swing beside of me creak, as if someone sat down on it. I decide that it was just the wind. Then, I feel someone lay a hand on my arm.
