after our first we went to the main campus for P.E (which is also Cheer most days, but today was just P.E.).
"Are you two the new girls?" A boy asked, catching up to us.
I remembered him as Colby, a sixteen year old boy.
"Yep." I said, since Ava was the shy one.
"mr. Goodman told me to walk you around Campus, since you're new here." Colby said.
"o-kay.... we really don't need any-" I began.
"Listen," Colby said, "this school isn't what you think it's like, it isn't fun, exciting, there isn't even happiness outside the seminary building. ever."
way to put it the emphasis on the ever.
"But why isn't there happiness?" i asked.
"you'll see." he said, starting to walk.
Ava and I glanced at each other then started following.
We stopped in the auditorium. It was nothing what I expected it to be like, there were kids everywhere, no running, no jogging, none climbing ropes (though there were some climbing rope ladders), no one doing pull ups, sit ups. but Everyone was doing something that most schools forbid, sword fighting.
"Woah." I whispered, I glanced at Ava, her face was saying it all, she saw it too.
"Don't be amazed, this isn't a beauty pageant." Colby said, reminding me that we weren't alone right there.
"Right.... why is everyone sword fighting?" I asked.
"You'll see." He replied.
"Name?" A voice from behind me asked.
I turned around to see a coach holding a clipboard, he was big, but not fat, and he was at least six foot.
"Name?" He repeated.
"oh.. uh... Avery and Ava?"
"No, I meant your last name." he said, giving me a look.
"oh... we're both sisters... Bar-I mean, Milton." I said.
"Then we'll call you the Milton sisters." the coach said.
we nodded.
"Great, you two can work with Yates, anywhere you can find space." then he turned and yelled, "Changing statics!" and suddenly everyone did something else, different to what they were doing, then the coach turned to Colby, "Yates, go find that Clayton girl and choose one of the Milton girls to be with her."
"Yes Mr. Walton." Colby answered he motioned Ava and I to follow him.
"Then start teaching them!" Mr. Walton called after them.
"Mila!" Colby yelled to a girl about fourteen, she had black everything it almost looked like she was going to rob a bank, she had thick brown hair that seemed to go lighter down to the tips which were red. she was sitting in the corner eating a snack.
"Yates, how many times have I told you to use my last name and not my first?" The girl asked, abandoning her snack.
"Sorry, anyway, we're training these girls."
"Great, I was just about done with snack." Mila looked about to loose herself in anger.
"Woah sunshine, you don't need to get so angry. we need to train them, General Walton told me so."
"Will somebody tell me what we're training for?" I asked.
"You don't want to know." Mila said, glaring at anyone who stared at her.
"I'll tell you once we start training." Colby reassured me.
I nodded.
"You take that one and I'll take this one." Mila said, pulling Ava to an empty space.
"Ready then?" Colby asked me.
"As ready as I'll ever be." I answered.
