Trouble in Terrorist Town was meant to be a harmless game; one in which they teased each other in and occasionally looked behind one another and cheated. But not this time, this time, Kevin had been so focused on his screen and kept Aleks out of the mix. This time, he was trying to work his anger off and free himself from the thoughts that raced through his mind. His meditation hadn't worked well enough this time and he needed something to get these emotions out. They had been bottling up for far too long and becoming so strong that he had begun pushing his boyfriend away too much.
Aleks had grown annoyed by the behavior and Kevin could see that behind his own anger, and tried to keep it to himself, offering to challenge him in a few different games, trying to find the perfect one to get the emotions out in. Which was when they settled on trying out some things in Garry's Mod, all of which having gone to utter hell the moment Kevin had been put on the traitors team. He kept everything to himself, going more silent than he usually would have during a normal session and ended up with the most kills that round, something that stunned the both of them. Having a gun though, in his virtual hands, made the feelings go away and made him able to breathe a bit more easily.
For Aleks though, it annoyed him even more and he ended up having a childish fit and storming away from their office area, grumbling. He was a bit of a sore loser, especially when Kevin didn't tell him what he was up to or why he was doing it. Even more so when he knew he should have cheated just this one time, but no. He hadn't done that, unfortunately. He was tired of losing and tired of having to reclaim his karma points every round. As much as Aleks trolled servers and their mods, he did sometimes like to remain on a decent server with a decent karma standing, and right now, that wasn't going to happen.
So he stomped up the stairs to their shared bedroom, slammed and locked the door, and sat on the floor, grumbling loudly. He hated losing but even more so, he hated losing to Kevin. He hated being second best and that was exactly what he felt like today, particularly because it had been a bad day in general for him. Kevin had been ignoring him these last few days and now this had happened and he grew increasingly heartbroken over the way it had gone. He continued mumbling to himself until he heard a fist knocking on the door. "Aleks? Are you okay?" He heard, although muffled by the sounds of his grumbling and the door.
"I'm fine!" He growled out, glaring at the door stubbornly. He wasn't really but that wasn't what Kevin needed to know. On the other side of the door, Kevin rolled his eyes and tried to turn the knob. Locked -- of course -- he should have known better. He left for a moment and walked down the stairs again, grabbing the master key from the his key ring and walked back up silently and quickly. He knocked again, trying to get Aleks to just simply let him in and when that failed, he pushed the key in and then, pushed the door open. "Really dude?" He heard Aleks say, his face now stuffed in a pillow.
Kevin sat on the floor beside him and lightly brushed his arm, trying to get him to open up. His own bad mood having disappeared quickly with his murder spree in the game. "Is this about TTT? 'Cause if so, dude, I'm sorry." He started off but was caught in a quick hug, surprised, he returned it, holding onto him for a few moments longer.
That was all that Aleks needed for the last few days -- an apology to make everything feel better and feel right. That was all that he had wanted from Kevin "I'm sorry" and a hug.
